Thomas Tuchel has reportedly handed Marina Granovskaia an exciting three-man shopping list – with Chelsea looking to make three exciting signings who have all represented France.

The Blues are through to the Carabao Cup final, after easily seeing off Tottenham in their two-legged semi-final. Next on the horizon will be Liverpool or Arsenal in the final next month as they look to secure more silverware under the German.

Indeed, Chelsea remain in the hunt for four trophies this season. That said, a 10-point deficit to Manchester City means Premier League title glory looks a tall order.

Nonetheless, plans are afoot to strengthening the Chelsea side – with Tuchel’s immediate aim to provide more cover at left-back.

With Ben Chilwell seemingly out for the season, Tuchel has been left with just Marcos Alonso at his disposal. Plans to recall Emerson Palmieri appear likely to fail. As a result, Chelsea may turn to another loanee, impressing while at Coventry.

Long term though, Tuchel and Granovskaia have three bigger targets in mind, each of whom could cost Chelsea huge fees.

Jules Kounde remains in Chelsea sights

Top of their list of priorities is Sevilla defender Jules Kounde. The defender is rated as one of European football’s best after some stirring displays for LaLiga side.

Indeed, Kounde has been outstanding for a Sevilla side that currently sits second in the LaLiga table. Julen Lopetegui’s men also won the Europa League in 2020 with Kounde at the heart of their defence.

So far this season the former Bordeaux man has starred in 17 league outings, during which Sevilla have kept nine clean sheets. The Spanish giants have also only let in 13 goals in 20 games.

However, despite reports linking him to Liverpool this week, it is Chelsea who look likely to strike.

According to Sky Sports, he leads their three-man wanted list in 2022. The Blues know, however, that prising Kounde away from Sevilla will be far from easy and may have to spend as much as £75m to land their man.

Kimpembe also on Chelsea wanted list

With Chelsea very much in the market for a new defender this summer, the next man on their list is another France star in Presnel Kimpembe.

Jules Kounde is Chelsea’s primary target at centre back with Chelsea having looked at him for many years.

The left-footed centre-half is a regular in the PSG side, having come through their youth ranks.

He has even captained the French outfit on four occasions, showing his ability as a leader.

Kimpembe is happy at the Parc des Princes but would be up for trying out the Premier League, in a major boost for Chelsea. Tuchel is also plotting a charm offensive on the Frenchman – they know each other from Tuchel’s time managing PSG.

Kimpembe, though, is only likely to be targeted should efforts to land Kounde fail.

Granovskaia also tasked with Tchouameni signing

Next on the Chelsea agenda is impressive Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.

This season at Chelsea has shown that strength in depth is never more important than in central midfield.

The Blues have three elite performers in Jorginho, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante. However, the loan signing of Saul Niguez has not really worked out, despite his recent improvement.

As such, the potential acquisition of Tchouameni would give Tuchel midfield options that would be the envy of virtually all Premier League managers.

The 21-year-old midfielder is earning rave reviews after some stellar performances for Monaco. Indeed, he’s seen as one of French football’s best prospects. However, Monaco are powerless to prevent him leaving if a big bid comes their way

Tchouameni is rated in the £50m mark, so again his signing will not come cheap for Granovskaia or Chelsea.

The Blues may also look to welcome Conor Gallagher back into the fold next season following his fine season with Crystal Palace.
