Chelsea and Liverpool at the mercy of Tuchel with £201m quartet touted for Bayern Munich raids

Thomas Tuchel could wreak havoc on Chelsea and also torpedo a budding Liverpool plan after four potential Bayern Munich raids were touted.
Tuchel was quickly installed as the new Bayern Munich boss following Julian Nagelsmann’s shock sacking earlier this week. The former Chelsea boss had been out of work since being replaced by Graham Potter at Stamford Bridge in September.
The 49-year-old has been thrown in at the deep end with Bayern still on course for an unlikely treble.
They currently trail Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga by a single point, while Freiburg await in the quarter finals of the DFB Pokal.
In the Champions League, Tuchel faces the daunting prospect of tussling with Man City over two legs at the quarter final stage. If City are ousted, the winners of Real Madrid vs Chelsea await in the semis.
However, plans for the upcoming summer window will already be under discussion, with Tuchel likely to be backed heavily in the market.
On that front, a report from the Daily Express highlights four raids on Tuchel’s former club Chelsea that could be sanctioned. Among them is a potential move for Mason Mount – a deal that would torpedo a separate Liverpool plan.
Indeed, the Reds have been heavily linked with Mount whose talks over a contract extension at Chelsea have run aground.
The 24-year-old is out of contract at the end of next season and if an agreement can’t be reached, Chelsea will cash in this summer to avoid losing a highly saleable asset for nothing.
Mount has been valued around the £50m mark according to the Guardian. The Daily Mail recently claimed he’s enlisted the help of agent Neil Fewings to begin exploring an escape route out of Stamford Bridge this summer.
Liverpool’s primary midfield target is Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham. However, with Arthur Melo, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all departing at season’s end, multiple additions are required.
Goalkeeper and two forwards could follow Mount out?
Aside from Mount, the Daily Express believe Tuchel could order moves for fellow Chelsea stars Edouard Mendy, Christian Pulisic and Kai Havertz. The trio were signed for £22m, £58m and £71m (including future add-ons) respectively.
Mendy has fallen behind Kepa Arrizabalaga in Potter’s pecking order this term, though was always the No 1 under Tuchel.
Bayern have German legend Manuel Neuer in their ranks, though he’s now 36 and a succession plan must be put in place sooner rather than later. The January arrival of reliable Bundesliga stopper Yann Sommer from Monchengladbach may complicate a Mendy move.
Elsewhere, Pulisic and Havertz both earned moves to Chelsea on the back of shining in Germany with Dortmund and Leverkusen respectively.
Chelsea’s lavish spending in the Todd Boehly era will necessitate a raft of exits moving forward and Pulisic could be among those sacrificed, per the report. The summer arrival of Christopher Nkunku will further cloud the American’s future in west London.
Havertz scored the winning goal when Chelsea sunk Man City in the 2021 UCL final to deliver Tuchel his first success in that competition.
The 23-year-old is featuring heavily under Potter of late and as such, would appear the most difficult coup to pull off of the four.
In Havertz’s case, a desire to return to his home country may be required if Tuchel is to forge a reunion.
