Chelsea star described as ‘dream transfer for every Ajax supporter’ as exit talk gathers momentum
A Chelsea forward is being viewed as the “dream transfer for every supporter” at Ajax this summer as the Dutch side plan for a major rebuild.
Hakim Ziyech is expected to quit Stamford Bridge this summer, with the Blues expected to undergo a major clearout of their squad in order to raise funds to comply with Financial Fair Play after two transfer windows of big spending under Todd Boehly.
And journalist Johan Inan believes the Moroccan forward could be an ideal option for his old club Ajax.
Ziyech is currently out of favour in west London and has largely had a disappointing stint at Chelsea after his €40million switch in July 2020.
Indeed, the 30-year-old has played only 903 minutes in all competitions this season and will push for an exit to get his career back on track, despite the fact that the Blues are closing in on Mauricio Pochettino as their new manager.
Inan states that a return to Ajax for the attacker would go down very well in Amsterdam.
He said: “Hakim Ziyech is of course a dream transfer for every supporter.
“He hasn’t played much in recent years. And I hear Milan are following him, so whether that is feasible I don’t know.
“The tricky thing now is that surely they have to sing a tone lower, you also have to see what the lack of Champions League does to the salary house.”
Ziyech was on the bench again but came on as a late substitute in Chelsea’s much-needed win at Bournemouth last weekend.
The Blues are back in action on Saturday when they host Nottingham Forest in the Premier League.
