Boehly draws up ambitious four-player transfer list as Chelsea prepare for another massive spending spree

Todd Boehly of Chelsea

Chelsea are putting plans in place for a massive spending spree amid claims Todd Boehly wants another huge midfielder signing that will put the Enzo Fernandez deal in the shade.

The Blues are finally starting to find their feet after a difficult season so far. Indeed, three successive wins have nudged Chelsea up the table and fired them into the Champions League quarter-finals. And no-one will be more relieved than Graham Potter, who was starting to feel uncomfortable in the Chelsea hotseat.

However, with the Blues now able to look forwards, rather than backwards with regret, plans for the summer window are starting to take shape.

And despite already spending well in excess of £500m, it seems Boehly is ready to make further titanic-sized waves on the transfer front.

Having brought in 17 new players during that half a billion outlay, much emphasis will be put on player sales at Chelsea. Indeed, Ben Jacobs recently told TEAMtalk that five players would be allowed to leave in an effort to generate £200m in sales.

However, that does not mean that new signings will not be made either. And it seems Boehly and Potter are drawing up a list of would-be new midfield recruits.

And while they spend a British record £105.7m on Fernandez in January, it seems another major midfield deal will go through this summer.

To that end, Football Insider reports that Chelsea have stuck four players on that wishlist.

And the man at the top of their list of targets is Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham.

The England teenager finds himself in high demand this summer. And while Dortmund will likely command a fee well in excess of £100m, suitors are not in short supply.

Chelsea also want Rice and Caicedo

However, any deal for Bellingham is likely to be hard to pull off. That race is currently being led by Liverpool, while there is also interest from Manchester United and Real Madrid. Manchester City may also yet make a move and they may hold an advantage thanks to his close pal Erling Haaland.

Furthermore, TEAMtalk exclusively revealed earlier this season that Bellingham has already ruled out the move to Stamford Bridge.

And while any deal for Bellingham would cost a huge fee, a move for another target, Declan Rice, is unlikely to come much cheaper.

The West Ham star is ready to leave the Hammers and take the next step in his career. And with just a year left on his deal come the summer, West Ham cannot realistically stand in his way.

However, David Moyes is warning suitors that any deal will cost in excess of the fee Chelsea paid for Fernandez.

That chase is currently reportedly being led by Arsenal, with the Gunners also keen on another Blues target in Moises Caicedo.

The Brighton star recently signed a new deal, though could easily still be prised away. A fee in the region of £80m is being mentioned.

However, the most acquirable target of all could come from overseas.

And reports on Sunday claimed Boehly is ready to make a fresh play to sign Man Utd target Frenkie De Jong.

Indeed Barcelona’s financial issues will likely mean they are forced into a couple of major sales this summer.

And with demand high for the Dutchman, he could be allowed to move on.

Should that happen, Chelsea will reportedly challenge Manchester United strongly for his signature.
