Chelsea transfer news: Final Cesare Casadei fee revealed, amid club chief’s glowing report and dream plan

Chelsea believe Inter teenager Cesare Casadei can be the future of their midfield and they are reportedly ready to pay £20million to sign him.
The 19-year-old has yet to make his senior debut for the Serie A club but already has a plethora of keen observers. One of those clubs is Chelsea, who face a key dilemma in their midfield.
Jorginho, N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic are all 28 or over. What’s more, Kovacic has the longest contract left of the trio, with two years remaining.
Chelsea have of course brought Conor Gallagher back from his Crystal Palace loan. They will also soon welcome Aston Villa starlet Carney Chukwuemeka into their ranks.
According to the Evening Standard, though, the Blues feel Casadei is a third player who can form an exciting part of their future midfield.
Previous reports revealed a Stamford Bridge bid worth up to £6.7million for the Italian. The latest claim says that Chelsea have in fact made two offers for Casadei.
And after both transfer attempts failed, the Blues reckon £20million will do the trick for the youngster.
The Evening Standard claims that new Chelsea owner Todd Boehly wants to back academy boss Neil Bath’s take on how the future of the club should look.
Bath has reportedly scouted Casadei ‘extensively’ and feels he could rise to become a first-team star at Chelsea.
The Blues are aware of their pressing midfield situation and are therefore being proactive in finding the latest young talents.
Casadei has exciting future ahead
Casadei has made his name in Inter’s youth ranks, starting with his breakthrough in the 2019/20 season.
After a cameo in the UEFA Youth League and Primavera 1 competitions, his eight goals and three assists in the latter competition in 2020/21 helped Inter’s Under-19s finish second, losing out on the title to Atalanta on goal difference.
Inter’s youth stars finished runners-up again last term, following 13 goals and four assists from Casadei.
Casadei has played 24 minutes for Inter in pre-season, remaining on the bench for the last two games.
Chelsea continuing solid transfer reputation
Chelsea’s academy system has proved one of the most successful in the Premier League in recent years and signing Casadei would be another statement of intent.
At only 19, he would prove an expensive acquisition for their youth set-up. However, he may not have to wait long to make his breakthrough if he did move to Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea are clearly aware that they need to revamp their midfield. And putting a plan in place for Casadei to succeed Kante and Jorginho is another sign of how much the Blues believe in him.

Are Chelsea finding themselves in a difficult situation during pre-season?
Should Chelsea fans be worried for the start of the campaign after losing out on any transfer targets and a somewhat underwhelming pre-season performance?
Casadei is already an Italy Under-19 international and has scored three goals in 12 games at that level.
He is clearly being developed slowly, but both Inter and Chelsea believe there is a lot of untapped potential.
