Eden Hazard family member reveals when Chelsea will be able to re-sign Belgium ace

Eden Hazard of Real Madrid

Kylian Hazard has revealed when his brother Eden will consider leaving Real Madrid for a return to the Premier League, which could involve a fairytale reunion with Chelsea.

Hazard left the Blues in July 2019 to secure a dream transfer to the Bernabeu, which cost Real Madrid around £150million. However, things haven’t exactly gone to plan for the winger while in Spain.

The Belgium star has been held back by injuries and fitness issues, limiting him to less than 23 appearances in each of his first two seasons with Los Blancos.

That could change this term, as Hazard has already featured 22 times in all competitions. However, he is still failing to replicate the form that saw him become one of the Premier League’s best players. Just one goal has come his way so far in 2021-22.

The attacker’s struggles have led to rumours of a Chelsea return, either on loan or permanently.

According to Radio Marca journalist Ramon Alvarez, the Blues were in talks with Carlo Ancelotti’s side in February over a deal. However, it did not yield any results.

Younger brother Kylian, who represents RWDM in Belgium’s second tier, has now revealed when Hazard could leave Madrid.

Brother reveals Eden Hazard stance

“He is fine where he is, his family feels good there,” the fellow player said (via the Daily Mail). “He has a contract until 2024 and I think he will wait until then [before leaving].

“Maybe he’s playing a little less now and the team is functioning without him, but everyone knows how good he is.”

Hazard is struggling to become a regular starter under Ancelotti amid fierce competition for places. Vinicius Junior is having an exceptional season, while Rodrygo and Marco Asensio are also available out wide.

Madrid sit top of the La Liga table after 27 games, having won 19 of them. They now have an eight-point lead on second-placed Sevilla.

Thomas Tuchel makes striker admission

Meanwhile, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel believes Romelu Lukaku can still play a key role for Chelsea, despite Kai Havertz being an almost perfect fit up front.

“Of course,” the manager told the Daily Mirror of Havertz’s importance. “He gives a lot of intensity and he’s involved in goals. He scored again, so it’s a very good moment and it’s on him to keep going. This is how it is.

“We played the last cup match without him, Timo Werner was very strong and was very close to starting. Romelu got his goal and we will need everybody. But at this moment, he’s in really good shape.”

Tuchel could not deny that Havertz has special traits that, as it stands, mean he must carry on playing.

“What he gives us is huge volume,” Tuchel said. “He covers a lot of metres, he covers a lot of metres in high intensity, so he finds the intensity no matter what the system the opponent defends against us, he finds intensive runs, he finds distances.

“This is what makes him and he uses his body more and more.”
