Chelsea transfer news: Fresh connection to pay immediate dividends with Blues sizing up Zach Robinson coup

Zach Robinson Wimbledon striker

Zach Robinson could follow his former Wimbledon manager Mark Robinson to Chelsea this summer, TEAMtalk understands.

Mark Robinson managed Wimbledon between January 2021 to March 2022. He spent the majority of his coaching career in Wimbledon’s ranks prior to taking the managerial reins, though his association with the club came to a close three months ago.

Chelsea wasted little time in bringing his expertise on board. Indeed, the club confirmed in May that Robinson had been recruited to become the new head coach of their development squad.

Robinson built his reputation on his stellar work with the Dons’ youth ranks. Clearly, Chelsea are hopeful he’ll have a similar effect at Cobham.

The Blues’ academy have developed some of the finest footballers England have produced in recent times. Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham, Reece James and Fikayo Tomori are all bona fide England internationals.

Now, TEAMtalk has learned Chelsea could dip back into Wimbledon’s ranks for another Robinson.

We understand 20-year-old striker, Zach Robinson, has emerged as an option to join Chelsea’s youth set-up.

His contract with Wimbledon has expired and the Dons are desperate to retain his services.

However, he is rated very highly and a host of clubs have held talks to land the marksman.

We’re told one of the options available to Zach Robinson could be to join Chelsea. If the move does materialise, Mark Robinson’s fingerprints will be all over the coup.
