Jude Bellingham: Serious Chelsea transfer groundwork revealed as Boehly looks to beat Liverpool, Man Utd

Jude Bellingham, October 2022

Chelsea have put in background work over a transfer for Liverpool and Manchester United target Jude Bellingham, according to a report.

The 19-year-old England man is starring for club and country and has subsequently become highly sought after. But, he will not come cheap – and it will not be as simple as submitting the highest bid.

Indeed, Bellingham’s family are reportedly studying the progress of all their client’s suitors this season. His representatives are aware of the talent and potential he possesses and want the perfect next project for the midfielder.

Reports have mentioned Chelsea in the hunt for Bellingham, although not as strongly as Liverpool and Man Utd.

According to Bild, though, the Stamford Bridge club are well in the race for the teenager.

In fact, the Blues – led by part-owner Todd Boehly – have ‘long’ had contact with Dortmund, continually notifying the Bundesliga giants of their interest in Bellingham.

Dortmund have reportedly responded by telling Chelsea they will have to pay €120million (£105million) to sign the player.

Chelsea future-proofed their midfield this summer with two exciting signings.

Jude Bellingham would add to Chelsea present and future

Former Aston Villa talent Carney Chukwuemeka moved to Stamford Bridge alongside ex-Inter starlet Cesare Casadei.

The former, who was an up-and-coming player for Villa, has made his Premier League debut for his new club.

The 18-year-old came on in the recent 3-0 win over Wolves. Casadei, meanwhile, has scored two goals in three reserve matches.

Despite Bellingham being 19 – the same age as Casadei and just a year older than Chukwuemeka – he has already proven he is made for the top level.

The former Birmingham man has scored in all four of Dortmund’s Champions League games this season. He also became the youngest-ever player to appear at a European Championships last summer when he was just 17.

Therefore, he would not only be a fantastic talent for Chelsea’s present – but also for the future given their recent signings.

Liverpool can also claim to be in a similar situation with their recent midfield signings of Fabio Carvalho and Harvey Elliott.

Bild adds that Chelsea are willing to pay ‘more than €100million’ (£87million) to sign Bellingham.

Real Madrid are also in the hunt and have also future-proofed their midfield in recent transfer windows.

Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga and Federico Valverde have all impressed since breaking through.
