Man Utd and Tottenham targets put up for sale as Serie A giant clear deck for shock Chelsea raid

Juventus are eyeing an ambitious Chelsea coup and are paving the way by preparing to axe three stars including one linked with Man Utd and another wanted by Tottenham, per a report.

Juventus have hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons of late. The club’s entire board of directors, president Andrea Agnelli and vice president Pavel Nedved all recently resigned following preliminary investigation by the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office into fraudulent accounting and alleged hidden payments to players.

That was initially expected to play havoc with their transfer plans for the future, especially in January.

However, the news coming out of Turin since then suggests the club’s recruitment drive will resist the upheaval behind the scenes. As such, the latest from Italy claims a blockbuster move for Chelsea’s Mason Mount is in their sights.

Mount, 23, has been on Chelsea’s books since the age of six. He’s already racked up 181 first-team appearances for the Blues and is tracking to become a club icon if he remains for the long haul.

However, his current contract expires in 2024 and there’s growing speculation all is not well.

Indeed, Mount is understood to be aiming high and is seeking around £300,000-a-week in his next deal.

He’s already rejected one proposal, per the Daily Mail, and wishes to be brought in line with summer recruit Raheem Sterling. The ex-Man City winger pockets £300,000 every seven days.

Chelsea understandably have reservations about sanctioning too many colossal salaries. The Guardian later reported Liverpool and Juventus had registered their interest in case Mount’s situation at Stamford Bridge turns sour.

Now, Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb details Juventus’ attempts to secure an eye-catching Mount coup.

They report Juventus are prepared to axe three midfielders ahead of launching a Mount raid next summer. The trio they’re prepared to ditch are Leandro Paredes who is on loan with an option to buy from PSG, along with Adrien Rabiot and Weston McKennie.

Manchester United bid for Rabiot last summer, though fell short after the Frenchman’s mother priced her son out of a move. The infamous Veronique Rabiot acts as Adrien’s agent.

Rabiot has shone for Les Bleus in Qatar amid injuries to Paul Pogba and N’Golo Kante, though has endured a rocky ride in Turin. He recently raised eyebrows when declaring he’d love to play in the Premier League at some stage, though whether United’s interest still remains is unclear.

Following his abandoned move, Man Utd quickly changed course and snapped up Casemiro. If Man Utd are no longer in the mix, the path could now be clear for Newcastle. The Magpies were labelled ‘serious’ about signing Rabiot by Calciomercato last week.

McKennie, meanwhile, has been heavily linked with Tottenham. Spurs moves for Serie A stars have become increasingly common amid the influence of Italian pair Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte.

McKennie can reportedly be snapped up for a maximum of £26m and the American would provide Conte’s midfield with a more box-to-box dimension.

If Juve are able to offload their deadwood, only then will a Mount move be seriously explored.

Chelsea will be reluctant to part ways with their academy graduate, though if he refuses to pen fresh terms, their hand may be forced.
