Chelsea now a ‘viable’ option for PSG superstar, as Boehly plans to offload £80m man in shock trade-off

Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi and Neymar

Chelsea are one of the ‘most likely’ teams to sign Paris Saint-Germain attacker Neymar this summer, who is reportedly looking for a way out of the French club.

The Blues, along with Newcastle and Manchester United, have been linked with a sensational move for the Brazil international recently. But, they are yet to make an official approach.

Neymar would certainly fit in with Todd Boehly’s transfer ideology of buying big-name players. So it will be interesting to see if they do come in for him.

As reported by TEAMtalk, PSG are ‘willing’ to let the former Barcelona star leave this summer. This comes after thousands of their so-called ‘ultras’ protested outside his house on Thursday, who chanted: ‘Neymar, get out.’

After those protests, it’s thought Neymar – as well as Lionel Messi – is determined to leave the Parc des Princes.

Now, according to reports from BrazilNewcastle, Chelsea and Man Utd are all linked with Neymar. But, the Magpies are not interested in a move, so, Man Utd and Chelsea are currently the favourites to sign him.

Chelsea tipped to offload Joao Felix

Now, it seems Chelsea could be without one of their key attackers next season, which could make room for Neymar.

Indeed, as per a report from Spanish outlet ASAtletico Madrid are ‘not convinced’ Chelsea will sign Joao Felix permanently this summer.

The Portugal international signed for the Blues in January on an expensive loan agreement. Now, despite Felix being ‘happy’ at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are tipped to reject him.

The London form have endured a disappointing season and Felix has, overall, failed to make a major impact. So far, in 13 Premier League appearances, he has scored just three goals.

It’s claimed Felix thinks he ‘didn’t go to Chelsea for this’ but understands his fortunes could change under a new manager.

Atletico are willing to sell the attacker for £80m this summer. However, as mentioned, there is a belief within the Spanish club that Chelsea won’t meet that fee.

Interestingly, this could open the door for Manchester United to sign Felix, who have also been linked with the 23-year-old.

Felix departure could make room for Neymar

As mentioned, Felix’s absence could make way for a new attacking addition at Chelsea ahead of next season.

With that in mind, while Neymar’s links with a switch to the Premier League are in their early stages, it would be a sensational move from Chelsea to bring him in.

Despite the controversy surrounding him, this season, Neymar has scored 13 goals in 20 Ligue 1 appearances, as well as contributing 11 assists. This gives him an outstanding average of 1.2 goal contributions per game.

Arguably, Neymar could be exactly what Chelsea need to reassert themselves at the top of the Premier League. So, it will be interesting to see how this story develops.
