Chelsea primed for incredible striker coup with ‘promise’ to help sink PSG, Real Madrid

Palmeiras striker Endrick

Chelsea are the preferred choice from a Brazilian striker’s list of heavyweight suitors and are prepared to match PSG’s upcoming third bid to seal an incredible coup, per reports.

Brazil have produced more than their fair share of superstar forwards throughout footballing history. However, very few have come with quite the reputation Palmeiras’ Endrick has cultivated.

Despite being 16, Endrick is already one of the most hyped prospects in world football.

He scored 165 goals in 169 for Palmeiras’ youth teams when regularly playing in age groups well beyond his years.

Endrick earned a senior debut in October despite his tender age and scored three and assisted another in his first seven appearances that totalled just 307 minutes.

Unsurprisingly, his rapid rise has caught the attention of Europe’s elite.

Barcelona, Real Madrid, PSG and Chelsea are all chasing Brazil’s next big thing. What’s more, PSG have already lodged two sizeable bids.

Per ESPN, the Ligue 1 giant’s last offer totalled €45m (approx. £39.35m). Palmeiras ‘instantly’ rejected the bid, instead hoping to generate their full valuation of €60m (approx. £52.5m).

The same report states PSG are expected to come back in and meet the top end figure, indicating just how highly Endrick is rated. However, Chelsea too will bid €60m and the Blues have three distinct advantages.

Signs point towards Endrick to Chelsea

Firstly, the Daily Mail recently reported Brazil captain Thiago Silva was on hand when Endrick and his family were given a tour around Chelsea’s training ground.

Silva is revered in Brazil and his presence can only have helped Chelsea’s chances of landing their man.

Secondly, ESPN state a move to Stamford Bridge is Endrick’s preferred choice. What’s more, they claim a decision on where he moves – given the suitors will all be bidding the same €60m amount – will be up to the player himself.

Finally, the Daily Post (citing Fabrizio Romano) report Chelsea have promised Endrick he’ll be fast-tracked into their first-team if he does commit to the Blues.

Given his age, Endrick cannot officially join up with a club outside of Brazil until he turns 18. As such, he’ll not arrive in England until 2024 if signed by Chelsea.

However, at that time he’ll have two years of experience in the Palmeiras first-team under his belt.

Throwing him straight into Chelsea’s eleven therefore won’t be the gamble it would appear to be at present and they’ll likely be able to come good on that promise.

Endrick is left-footed and has operated exclusively at centre-forward for Palmeiras.

Chelsea have a recent history of struggling to find reliable goalscorers with their buys in the position.

Going back to the early days of Roman Abramovich, the likes of Mateja Kezman, Andriy Shevchenko, Fernando Torres, Alvaro Morata, Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku have all tried and failed at being the answer up front.

In Endrick, Chelsea may well reverse that trend in emphatic fashion.
