Chelsea lurking in background as they plot sensational swoop for Robert Lewandowski

Chelsea are understood to be monitoring the situation of Robert Lewandowski and are ready to pounce for the Bayern Munich striker if his transfer to Barcelona falls through.
The 33-year-old striker has made it clear that he is leaving Bayern after a breakdown in his relationship with the Bundesliga giants.
The Poland international has indicated that he has “not considered any other offer than that of Barcelona”.
But last week he said he did not want to “force” a move to Barcelona. And at this point in time there has been no real movement from Barca who need to offload players in order to get their wage bill down.
Now 90min report that Chelsea have “asked to be kept aware of the negotiations”.
Todd Boehly’s new regime are primed ready to make their move if Barcelona fail to get a deal together for Lewandowski.
The legendary striker though is still all in for a move to the Camp Nou. Barca though have work to do behind the scenes. They need to get their finances to a level where they can afford a move for the attacker.
The Blaugrana have made Lewandowski their top target and the feeling is mutual. And Joan Laporta is said to be readying a €50m bid for him, according to TZ.
Lewandowski eyed to replace Lukaku
Chelsea meanwhile are looking for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku. The Belgium striker looks bound for Inter Milan on a loan deal if a financial agreement can be reached.
Inter chief Beppe Marotta has confirmed talks are underway over a return for Lukaku.
“Lukaku and Dybala are our targets, but we need to consider financial issues,” Marotta said, via Football Italia.
Chelsea are said to have close ties with Lewandowski’s agent Pini Zahavi. But so far they have not yet made a formal offer for the player.
Bayern meanwhile are reluctant to sell the player, who does have one year remaining on his contract. And Chelsea would be open to a 12-month loan, with the source claiming Lewandowski could extend his contract at the Allianz Arena for that loan to go through.
Lewandowski, who has scored 76 goals in 132 games for Poland, has a remarkable 344 goals in 375 games for Bayern.
