Trevoh Chalobah has been told that he can leave Chelsea and TEAMtalk understands a host of clubs are already talking with his camp.
New Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino had the option to use Chalobah to back-up their defence following the injury to Wesley Fofana, but he instead opted to sign a replacement and they brought in Axel Disasi from Monaco.
It means Chalobah’s future at Stamford Bridge is now at risk, less than a year after he signed a contract extension until 2028.
Even with Fofana on the sidelines for the foreseeable future, Chelsea still have Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill and Thiago Silva ready to compete for a centre-back berth.
There are suitors in England with West Ham, Everton and Crystal Palace showing an interest in keeping him in the Premier League. But TEAMtalk understands that Chalobah is open to moving abroad and there is no shortage of interest in Europe.
Disasi’s former club Monaco, as well as Lyon, Wolfsburg, Borussia Dortmund, Roma and Napoli are amongst those keen on a deal for the 24-year-old.
Dortmund or Napoli would be able to offer Chalobah involvement in the Champions League, while Roma are in the Europa League like West Ham.
We understand Chelsea would prefer a permanent move, but they might consider a loan deal with an option to buy included.
The Evening Standard recently claimed Chelsea could be asking for up to £45m for their academy graduate after he began to explore an exit.
