Tuchel muscles in, as Chelsea plot to scupper Liverpool for German hotshot

Liverpool won’t have a pursuit of a German striker sensation all their own way from an English perspective after Chelsea entered the mix, per a report.
Chelsea splashed out £97.5m to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge in the summer. But going the other way was Olivier Giroud and Tammy Abraham in moves that left the Blues short of depth.
Lukaku suffered an ankle injury against Malmo on Wednesday night, while Timo Werner pulled up lame with a hamstring complaint.
That will likely thrust makeshift centre-forward Kai Havertz into the spotlight in the coming weeks, showcasing juist how important adequate depth at the top level can be.
An excellent addition to their ranks would come in the form of Liverpool target, Karim Adeyemi.
The German sensation, 19, is already following a similar course to the one Erling Haaland took.
Adeyemi is scoring for fun with Austrian outfit RB Salzburg. He has plundered 12 goals from 17 matches this term including four from five in Europe.
His rapid rise has been so quick that he has already broken into Germany’s senior set-up at international level.

Liverpool target Karim Adeyemi available for £25m in summer
Liverpool target Karim Adeyemi will reportedly be available for £25m in the summer, with more updates on Kalvin Phillips and Ousmane Dembele.
Interest from the usual Germany heavyweights – Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund – has been documented. Though Jurgen Klopp has also been credited with interest in bringing the youngster to Anfield.
But per Goal (citing a report from the Spanish press), Adeyemi is on two other giants’ radars.
They claim Chelsea and Barcelona have thrown their hat in the ring in what is already shaping up to be a titanic transfer tussle.
According to Austrian souyrce ORF, Salzburg will want somewhere between €30m and €40m for Adeyemi. However, they are open to his sale and will likely be able to generate the sum they desire given Adeyemi has a lengthy list of suitors.

Chelsea prepared to make £50m Real Madrid offer
Meanwhile, Chelsea are reportedly willing to offer €60million (£50.04m) to sign defender Ferland Mendy from Real Madrid in next summer’s transfer window.
Catalan outlet El Nacional states that the Blues have reignited their interest in Mendy. He joined Real from Lyon in 2019 and has become a key figure at the Bernabeu.
However, reports have emerged that the player’s future is now uncertain, especially will Real potentially activating their buy-back option on Tottenham star Sergio Reguilon.
El Nacional states that the Blues were keen on signing Mendy over the summer, when they were also looking to offload Marcos Alonso.
The Spain international continues to be linked with a Stamford Bridge exit. That’s despite excelling under Thomas Tuchel, with Inter Milan keen on a deal.
Mendy’s versatility certainly appeals to Tuchel. Like club skipper Cesar Azpilicueta, he is also able to play as a centre-back in a three-man defence.
