Transfer ‘almost done’ as Palace close on monumental Aaron Ramsey signing from Juventus

Crystal Palace are ‘closing on an agreement’ to sign Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey, with Juventus frustrations over his seeming unwillingness to return to the Premier League about to be put to bed.

Ramsey has been on the radar of many a Premier League side recently. Newcastle United, Wolves and Burnley have all joined Crystal Palace in pursuit of the Welshman.

Despite Juventus’ desire to ship him out of the club, Ramsey remains for now. The Welshman has rejected advances from each of Newcastle, Wolves and Burnley of late.

This has only frustrated the Serie A giants, as they want to get his mammoth contract off the books.

Ramsey has completed a full 90 minutes just once since he joined in from Arsenal in 2019. He has only featured for 112 minutes this term, so Juve are essentially paying him big money to not play.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness, claims positive talks with Crystal Palace could finally see him move on.

That report states the deal between Ramsey and Palace is nearing completion.

Clearly, Patrick Vieira feels the former Arsenal man still has something to offer in the Premier League.

Working under such a quality former midfielder will give Ramsey a great chance to revive his career.

What’s more, a midfield pairing of Ramsey and Conor Gallagher sounds a quality one on paper.

Ramsey among positive Palace news

Ben Mee challenging Christian BentekeWhile Ramsey looks likely to join the club, Palace have been given more positive news. Christian Benteke has appeared to rebuff Burnley interest, in favour of a Palace stay.

The Clarets are looking to replace Chris Wood, after he moved to fellow strugglers Newcastle.

While Sean Dyche’s side hoped Benteke might be the man to fill that role, the Belgian is less than keen.

He wants to remain at Palace, which seems smart given they are fighting towards the top half, rather than to avoid relegation as Burnley are.
