Crystal Palace have joined a host of Premier League sides in attempting to sign Aaron Ramsey, with the Eagles’ pursuit looking good for one key reason.

Former Arsenal man Ramsey’s Juventus career has not gone particularly well. Indeed, the Welshman has completed a full 90 minutes for Juve just once since joining in 2019.

A number of Premier League sides have registered an interest in Ramsey. What’s more, Massimiliano Allegri revealed the midfielder will be moving on from the Italian giants.

As such, many of the interested sides are chomping at the bit to land the three-time FA Cup winner.

Crystal Palace joined the host of Premier League sides interested in landing Ramsey. Furthermore, Patrick Vieira lauded him as a “terrific player” recently.

Of course, both Vieira and Ramsey are former Arsenal midfielders, which stands Palace in good stead. In fact, that may be enough of a pull for Ramsey to join the side, as he could work back into form under a former midfield great.

A report from Corriere dello Sport, via Sport Witness, claims that a ‘call from Patrick Vieira’ has taken place. That call may well have been to Ramsey, in an attempt to convince him to join the side.

Further reports from the Italian media claim there is ‘Optimism about Ramsey’s move to Crystal Palace’.

Aaron Ramsey set for Premier League return as Juventus want him gone

Aaron Ramsey has been told he is not wanted at Juventus and is free to leave with a Premier League switch on the cards

However, Ramsey currently has a massive wage at Juventus. What’s more, he has shown no willingness to take a smaller sum in order to get a move.

However, the pull of working under Vieira may be enough to convince him to do that.

Nketiah joins Ramsey on Eagles’ shortlist

Eddie Nketiah Arsenal

In other news, Palace are also looking to land Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah in the January window. The young forward is yet to sign a new deal at the Emirates, and is now in the final six months of his contract.

Therefore, Palace would be able to land him for cut-price fee.

While there is interest for Nketiah from a number of other sides, Palace seem to be in the box seat.

Indeed, Vieira’s Arsenal past could mean his side are favoured by the Gunners.
