Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is a transfer target for Salernitana as well as multiple Bundesliga clubs

Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is a target for Serie A side Salernitana, while interest in Germany is also emerging, TEAMtalk understands.

Mateta faces an uncertain future at Palace after failing to establish himself at Selhurst Park. The 26-year-old made 32 appearances in all competitions for Palace last season, but only eight of those were starts.

Italian outfit Salernitana are in the market for a new target man and former France Under-21 international Mateta figures on their wanted list.

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, Mateta certainly fits the profile of striker Salernitana crave.

A number of Bundesliga clubs are also monitoring Mateta’s situation at Palace, with the forward well regarded in Germany following his successful spell with Mainz prior to his move to Palace.

Mateta bagged 27 goals in 71 appearances in a fruitful stint that earned him a loan move to Palace. The temporary stint that was eventually made permanent, with Palace paying €18m all told.

However, we understand Palace could be willing to listen to offers for Mateta to boost funds for their own transfer plans this summer.

In total, Mateta has scored just ten goals in 67 appearances for Palace.
