Zaha offered mouthwatering sum to ditch Crystal Palace and join surprise suitor in summer

Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha has reportedly received an offer of £9million per year to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.
Zaha’s future being up in the air when approaching a transfer window is nothing new. A player of his promise is bound to have suitors each window.
That he has never made it to a top side means there is always a question over whether he could do so.
As such, a lot of top sides have been linked with him in the past. Zaha’s contract as Palace is up at the end of the season, so interest is ramping up.
Arsenal and Chelsea are two of the big names that have been linked with a move for the Ivorian forward. What’s more, one journalist feels his chance to finally break into a big side is “now or never”.
As such, Zaha will have a big decision to make soon. At 30 years old, and coming to the end of his Palace contract, now seems the perfect time to test the waters.
There might not be many better chances to see what he can make of the last few years of his top-flight career.
His decision might be made even harder by a mammoth offer that he has reportedly received.
Zaha extended mouthwatering offer
Indeed, the forward has received a huge proposal, but not from a Premier League side. The Daily Mail reports Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad have offered Zaha a £9million-per-year contract.
This is the second opportunity the forward has apparently had to join a Saudi side. Indeed, the report suggests Cristiano Ronaldo’s side Al Nassr also want him.
However, Al-Ittihad are reportedly trying to gazump their deal.
An offer of £9million a year might be enough to do that. It would be tough for anybody to turn down that sort of money to play for any side.
Zaha should stand his ground
While that’s true, Zaha should remain in England. The Daily Mail suggest he has an offer of near £200,000 per week on the table from Palace – the most money they have ever offered anybody.
As such, he’ll still be making a good wage if he’s to stay there.
The main lure for him should be the chance to finally perform at a big side, though. Zaha’s period at Manchester United in 2013/14 was disastrous.
However, he’s built himself back up and is now one of Palace’s finest assets. Indeed, 110 goal contributions in 299 Premier League games shows he is a player who can have a big impact.
What’s more, in the last two seasons he’s scored 21 goals and provided five assists. As such, he’s not slowing down to the point he’d need to step down from the Premier League.
With the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly circling, he might finally have his chance. If he doesn’t take it, he might always think what if he had.
