Everton and Crystal Palace are reportedly keen on signing Serie A midfielder Ederson Silva this summer.
Ederson joined Italian outfit Salernitana from Brazilian club Corinthians in January. Since then, the 22-year-old has impressed spectators, and helped his side narrowly avoid relegation by just one point. Now, Ederson could be on the move once again with two Premier League clubs monitoring him.
Since his transfer, Edersdon has featured 15 times, scoring twice and assisting one more. He joined for a reported fee of £5.85m, and has quickly established himself as a fan favourite in Italy.
Having been capped by Brazil’s Under-20 side, the youngster is hoping to make the step up to the national side soon.
A move to the Premier League would likely help him achieve this goal.
However, having recently moved, Salernitana will want to keep hold of the player for at least another season.
If he was to move on, it would probably mean that either side would have to pay an improved fee for his services.
The Brazilian is currently under contract until 2026, and there has been no reported release clause.
However, for the right price, either side would likely be able to pull off a deal. Salernitana must improve in other positions themselves this summer, if they are to avoid another close call with relegation.
Ederson Silva an option for both Everton and Crystal Palace
Ederson predominantly plays as a defensive midfielder with an excellent work rate.
Currently occupying that role at Goodison Park is either Donny van de Beek or Fabian Delph. However, the Dutchman will reportedly return to Manchester United after a succcessful loan spell, whereas Delph is out of contract at the end of the month.
Crystal Palace will reportedly lose one of their star performers from this season. Conor Gallagher will return to Chelsea after a successful season-long loan spell.
That being said, Palace boss Patrick Vieira is reportedly keen on signing the young Englishman this summer on a permanent basis.
Whatever the case, it would be no surprise to see either club in the market for a young defensive midfielder.
