Everton ‘determined’ to sign Leeds star ‘immediately’ after agent confirms his next destination

Leeds winger Wilfried Gnonto is an Everton target

Wilfried Gnonto is an Everton target

Everton are reportedly ‘determined’ to sign Leeds United winger Wilfried Gnonto this summer, as Sean Dyche looks to bolster his attacking options.

The 19-year-old was one of the few positives in a dismal season for the Whites, which saw them relegated to the Championship.

As a result, Leeds look set to lose some of their best players this summer. Interestingly, Everton have been linked with a LOT of them,

For instance, Rodrigo, Crysencio Summerville, Tyler Adams and Jack Harrison have all emerged on Dyche’s radar. Some Leicester players have been linked with the Toffees, too.

But, it seems that Gnonto is the relegated player that Everton are most keen on, and they are ‘ready’ to table an offer for his services.

Last season, the youngster made 24 Premier League appearances for Leeds. In the process, he scored two goals and made four assists.

While he is not yet the finished article, Gnonto is expected to only improve as he gains experience.

His good performances have also earned him a regular spot in the Italy national team. So, there is no doubt that he could play a big role at Everton next season.

Everton prepare offer for Gnonto

According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello SportEverton ‘want to sign Gnonto immediately.’

Dyche says he wants to build his team around pace, power and aggression – something the Leeds star can bring in abundance.

Now, Everton are reportedly set to make an offer for Gnonto soon. And, comments from the player’s agent, Claudio Vigorelli, suggest that he would be open to joining the Merseyside club.

Speaking to CalcioMercatoVigorelli said: “I say that we are concentrated on the national team and the European championship. Then we have to talk to Leeds and we’ll see, but I think there will be options.

“The Premier League experience has been fantastic for him and I think he wants to continue in that direction. Then in football everything can be. But right now the focus is on the national team.”

Gnonto would definitely be an exciting addition for Everton. So, it will be interesting to see what offer they come up with.

But, for Leeds, losing Gnonto would be a huge blow. As mentioned, they could lose all of Rodrigo, Summerville, Adams and Harrison this summer – who are arguably some of their best players.

Therefore, they will have to bring in several players to replace their outgoings. Although, to do that, they need to bring in a manager and director of football first.
