Everton plot move for Barcelona star who could replace key man as part of summer ‘revolution’

Everton have reignited their interest in Barcelona goalkeeper Neto and will reportedly launch a move to sign him in the summer if they retain their Premier League status.
The focus is on staying in the Premier League but they have one eye on transfers and Neto. The goalkeeper has been linked with Everton in the past and is back on the radar.
That is according to the Spanish newspaper Sport who have run a story on Tuesday claiming that Neto wants out of the Camp Nou.
Indeed the goalkeeper has been pushing for a move away for some time but has yet to get his wish.
The 31-year-old moved to the Nou Camp from Valencia in the summer of 2019. The Brazilian replaced Jasper Cillessen as Barca’s number two. Neto knew that he would be behind Marc-Andre ter Stegen in the pecking order.
That is exactly how the situation has panned out so there can be no real complaints. However there is and the player wants to move on in search of regular action.
Rival interest
A host of clubs have been linked with Neto and Everton will face a fight to land him.
Back in January West Ham were one of the first teams to offer Neto a route out. They wanted to lure him to the Premier League with the offer of regular game time, something he is not getting in Spain.

Could Kepa replace Pickford at Everton this summer?
Chelsea want to sell Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer with Everton being spoken about to replace England number 1 Jordan Pickford
An official approach was made but for one reason or another a deal could not get over the line.
Neto wants a transfer to boost his chances of making Brazil’s World Cup squad and hopes to finally get his move this summer.
Sport claim that Everton could be his best chance of a move but they are not willing to meet the asking price which currently stands at £12million..
They suggest a season-long loan deal is a possibility that would include the option to buy if all parties are happy.
Everton know the keeper well and could make a move at the end of the season. Much of course will depend on Lampard’s men staying in the Premier League.
Everton squad overhaul
If that does happen then Lampard is said to be planning a “revolution” and will overhaul his squad in the close season.
And the report in Sport claims that could mean the end of Jordan Pickford following a disappointing season at Goodison.
Neto’s agents are now said to be working hard to get their client a move to the Premier League. The speculation is sure to hot up but regular first-team football is a must ahead of the World Cup.
Arsenal and Tottenham have also been mentioned in the past but he would be swapping one bench for another. Everton could be the club for him if indeed reports about him replacing Pickford prove to be correct.
