Everton, West Ham ‘open tentative talks’ with Serie A forward who ‘wants out’ of current club

Everton and West Ham United have reportedly started ‘tentative talks’ with Inter Milan attacker Joaquin Correa ‘in recent weeks.’
The 28-year-old has fallen down the pecking order with the Serie A giants and the player is keen to leave the club this summer.
Both Everton and West Ham are certainly in need of attacking reinforcements. S0, it will be interesting to see if either makes a concrete bid for Correa.
Indeed, the Toffees have made signing a new centre-forward their priority after scoring just 34 goals in the 2022/23 campaign.
Sean Dyche is charged with rebuilding the squad, as he looks to avoid a third consecutive relegation battle at Goodison Park.
Similarly, West Ham, at one stage, also looked in danger of relegation. However, David Moyes ultimately guided his team to win the Europa Conference League – the London club’s first trophy since 1980.
Nevertheless, Moyes, like Dyche, is keen to add attacking reinforcements to his squad. Indeed, 33-year-old Michail Antonio is past his prime and Gianluca Scamacca has never lived up to the hype for the Hammers.
With that in mind, we could potentially see the Premier League duo go head-to-head for Correa this summer.

Everton, West Ham looking at Correa deal
According to Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter Milan are ‘desperate’ to sell Correa this summer.
Last season, the Argentina international made 41 appearances across all competitions for the Champions League finalists. In the process, he scored just four goals and made three assists.
Now, Correa’s entourage are reportedly trying to find him a new club, with Everton and West Ham starting ‘tentative talks.’
A transfer fee isn’t mentioned in the report. However, Inter aren’t expected to demand a big fee for Correa this summer.
Interestingly, as noted by our friends at Football365, Everton have been ‘in contact’ with two other strikers recently – free agent Moussa Dembele and Coventry City’s Viktor Gyokeres.
Similarly, West ham also have their eye on several attacking targets.
For instance, Chelsea striker Armando Broja has emerged on the Hammers’ radar in recent days. This comes amid rumours that Scamacca could re-join Roma this summer.
So, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Moyes add at least one more attacker to his squad.
With that in mind, it will be interesting to see if Everton or West Ham make a bid for Correa over the next couple of weeks.
