Richarlison future latest: Real Madrid ready to swoop in ahead of rivals following huge transfer setback

Everton ace Richarlison

Real Madrid could make a move for Everton striker Richarlison after Kylian Mbappe’s decision to stay with Paris Saint-Germain threw their summer transfer plans into turmoil.

Los Blancos were banking on signing Mbappe this summer as a deal looked to be in the bag. However on Saturday night the 23-year-old did a U-turn and agreed to stay in Paris. He has penned a new three-year deal and Real are not impressed.

It means they will have to change their plans for the summer. And according to The Athletic, Richarlison is one option for them.

The 25-year-old has already been heavily linked with a move away from Goodison Park. Manchester United, Bayern Munich and PSG have all been linked with a swoop. Now Real can be added to that list.

Spanish publication Marca claim that Monaco starlet Aurelien Tchouameni is their top target. The 22-year-old is more of a midfielder though. Real want a more attacking player as well and that is where Richarlison comes in.

Of course Real coach Carlo Ancelotti knows him well from his time with Everton. If reports are to be believed a reunion could be on the cards at the Bernabeu next season.

Everton put themselves in a stronger position with Richarlison when securing Premier League survival. Even so the Brazilian is still expected to move on. There will be changes at Goodison over the summer and one or two big names could leave.

Rumours are rife that the books need balancing. Dominic Calvert-Lewin is another player to be linked with a move away. If Richarlison does move on it is thought Everton would be looking for a fee in the region of £50million.

Real do have other targets though. Reports claim they could also turn to Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. Both have just one year remaining on their current contracts.

Richarlison exit makes sense

Real Madrid’s interest in Richarlison can only be a good thing for Everton. It seems likely he will be moving on in the summer and now the aim for Everton will be to get as much cash as possible.

Real getting involved could push the price up a notch. A bidding war involving Real, United and Bayern would be ideal for Frank Lampard. Now that PSG have secured Mbappe they will be out of the hunt.

Richarlison is reported to have made it clear he wants Champions League football. And would jump at the chance if Real did come knocking. Everton would also cash in if the price was right and use it to rebuild for next season.
