Sky pundit urges Everton to sign 124-goal striker who has ‘the type of game the Goodison crowd like’
Sky Sports pundit Kevin Campbell thinks Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos would be a ‘great’ signing for Everton and could become a fan favourite at Goodison Park.
The 26-year-old was posted on social media wearing a Toffees shirt in March, which has led to speculation that he could favour a switch to Merseyside.
Morelos is set to be available on a free transfer this summer. As a result, he could be a real bargain signing for Everton. But, they are unlikely to be the only club interested in the Colombian.
The Toffees currently find themselves second-bottom of the Premier League table. The lack of a proven goal scorer has been Everton’s key issue, too.
In fact, they have scored the least of any team in the division, netting just 27 times thus far.
Their main striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has once again endured an injury-plagued campaign. Also, their summer signing, Neal Maupay, has scored just once in 24 league appearances.
With that in mind, Sean Dyche will no doubt be desperate to get a quality striker this summer, regardless of what division they end up in.

Campbell: ‘Morelos has an edge to him’
Now, Campbell has urged Everton to consider a move for Morelos, who, as mentioned, will be out of contract at the end of the season.
Speaking to Goodison News, the ex-Toffees striker said: “I think Morelos is a good player, he’s got the type of game that the Goodison crowd would like. There’s an edge to him.”
“The key is can you create opportunities for him? If you can then he looks like he could take chances.
“That one might be a little bit more of a longer shot, but someone like him it’s going to be difficult to just go to anywhere.
“That might be a smart shout to be honest, it might just be a smart shout because he likes to prove himself and he’s got that edge.”
Since joining Rangers in 2017, Morelos has made 268 appearances across all competitions. In the process, he has scored 124 goals and made 58 assists, giving him an average of 0.68 goal contributions per game.
The Colombian certainly has an eye for goal. But, Crystal Palace also have an interest in Morelos, so Everton could face competition for his signature.
Also, whether or not the Toffees sign him could come down to their Premier League status. But, for now, their focus will be on the their four remaining games of the season.
