Everton transfer news: Lampard pressing ahead with move for Brazilian defender Rodrigo Becao

Udinese player Rodrigo Becao

Everton are reportedly continuing to press ahead in their chase for Udinese defender Rodrigo Becao, as Frank Lampard looks to bolster his squad this summer.

The Goodison Park outfit survived potential relegation from the Premier League by the skin of their teeth last season and Lampard wants to strengthen his overall first-team squad to make sure there is no repeat scenario in 2022-23.

And Becao has emerged as one of the names on the shortlist of targets for the Toffees chief.

The Udinese Blog, Tutto Udinese and Calciomercato all claim that Everton are trying to sign the centre-back.

Udinese are expected to have a busy summer, with many of their top assets tipped to move on. To that end, the Merseysiders are looking to strike a deal for the Brazilian.

The report adds that the Italian outfit value Becao at between £13-17m. However, Everton will have rivals for his signature, with Torino and Inter Milan also interested.

At this stage, it’s thought that any offers will have be nearer to the £17m figure, although Udinese are hoping a bidding war will drive the player’s price up further.

The 26-year-old has scored four goals in 95 appearances in all competitions for Udinese. Becao joined the club from Brasileiro Serie B club Bahia in 2019.
