Carlos Vinicius completes Premier League return, as former Tottenham striker signs for Fulham

Fulham have brought former Tottenham Hotspur striker Carlos Vinicius back to the Premier League on a permanent transfer from Benfica.
Vinicius was Tottenham’s backup to Harry Kane during the 2020-21 season, which he spent on loan from Benfica. Since then, he has been playing for PSV Eindhoven on temporary terms.
But his spell in the Netherlands has now been interrupted, with Benfica having sold him to Fulham for an undisclosed fee.
The Brazilian striker has signed a three-year contract with Fulham, who will have the option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.
He told their official club website: “I’m really happy to be here. I think it’s a big club with good people, so I’m really, really happy.
“I’m happy to be back in the Premier League again. I’m more experienced now and I think I can help the club.”
Vinicius scored just one Premier League goal from nine appearances with Tottenham. However, his form was better in cup competitions, leading to a record of 10 goals in 22 appearances.
Now, he is ready to embark on a new challenge elsewhere in London with Fulham. He will be competing for a place up front with Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Tony Khan welcomes Carlos Vinicius to Fulham
Fulham official Tony Khan added: “I’m delighted to welcome Carlos Vinicius to Fulham.
“We’re working hard to build a strong squad with the depth required to compete through the entirety of this Premier League season and for future seasons, and with Carlos’ arrival we’ve added a talented and experienced goal scorer and strengthened our team; we’re excited that he’s joining Marco’s squad.”
Fulham are next in action when they visit Vinicius’ former club Tottenham on Saturday.
The Cottagers have had a productive deadline day, also completing deals for Willian and Layvin Kurzawa. Work continues on securing the signature of Daniel James from Leeds United before the deadline.
