Mitrovic completes his hat-trick for Fulham.

Fulham manager Marco Silva is thrilled with his side’s performance against Queens Park Rangers in the west London derby.

The home side thrashed their neighbours 4-1 in a very open encounter. Goals from Aleksandar Mitrovic on either side of half-time, Bobby Reid, and Antonee Robinson secured a well-deserved victory for Silva’s men. Fulham responded expertly to their 4-1 loss away at Coventry before the international break.

The victory against QPR means they’ve comfortably won their last two home league games.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Silva said: “It was clear we deserved the three points, we started the game well.

“First half we started really well. I think the first 25 minutes we had more chances to score a second and a third as well.”

Lyndon Dykes equalised for the visitors 10 minutes into the second half after a slow start from The Cottagers. However, they were quick to respond to being pegged back.

“Delighted to see the way we reacted to when it was 1-1,” added Silva. “It was a reaction we wanted to do, a reaction we wanted to see.”

After a fantastic start to life back in the Championship, Fulham had only won two out of their last five league games, so it was a much-needed win for Silva’s men.

” Our fans will have a very good feeling after the derby game and they go home with a smile on their faces,” said Silva.

“I know the Saturday before the break was tough for them so they deserve this.”

Mitrovic on fire once again

Aleksandar Mitrovic bagged a brace in the west London derby to continue his blistering form.

The Serbian has notched 12 Championship goals this season – making him the highest goalscorer in England’s top four divisons.

“I’m doing my job, my job is to score goals,” said Mitrovic. “I’m happy that I’ve scored two goals but even more that we’ve got the three points as well.”

The talisman bagged 26 goals last time out in the Championship but insists he never set’s himself any aims before a new campaign.

“I never set a target, I want to try and improve every game,” added Mitrovic. “I’m trying to score as much as possible, that’s my job. If I can keep scoring goals, I’m sure the team will keep winning games.

The win for Fulham means they sit just points away from the automatic places.
