Anyone who saw the game on Tuesday won’t be surprised that the attendance was 45,000.

I wonder if that will finally wake the board up to what the future looks like with Wenger in charge? I won’t hold my breath though.

Official attendance was 59,000. Yes we all know that it was much closer to 45,000 but the empty seats were brought about by a collection of events including the latest boycott. I doubt the BofD would be bothered in the least about season ticket holders who haven’t turned up given they have already paid.

Shifters, that’s been the case since we were at Highbury – that the club only count the number of tickets sold. The 45,000 figure was from the Met, who use the number of people that actually go through the turnstiles.

The hope is that the board will be worried about the apathy. Apathy spreads and it’s dangerous for any business to think that just because everything’s ok now, it will always be that way. Sign Wenger for another two years and it will just get worse and that waiting list of people waiting to take up season tickets will shrink.

Yes I know where the figures come from but it doesn’t affect revenue so they won’t be bothered, and I doubt they will be bothered anyway. Arsenal fans have been apathetic for years so I don’t see that bothering them either, the season’s over and they will assume that everything will be wonderful at the start of a new season. Fans are no longer important.

They will certainly be bothered but whether they do anything about it is another question.
