Tyler Adams looks set to become the latest United States international to join Leeds United after an update on the move from transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The RB Leipzig midfielder has agreed to join Jesse Marsch’s men on a long-term contract for a fee of £20million, which includes add-ons, and should complete his switch at some point this week.
Adams will join up with Marsch and fellow USA star Brendan Aaronson at Elland Road. The winger completed his own switch to west Yorkshire from RB Salzburg earlier in the window.
Marsch coached both players during his spells in charge at Leipzig and Salzburg and made a big effort to be reunited with the pair.
After arriving from MLS side New York Red Bulls, Adams made 103 appearances in three-and-a-half seasons for Leipzig. He also claimed some silverware last year as his side won the DFB-Pokal.
The 23-year-old will arrive at Elland Road with the tall task of replacing Whites hero Kalvin Phillips.
The England international completed his £45m move to Premier League champions Manchester City on Monday.

Leeds also closing in on exciting winger
Meanwhile, Leeds could reportedly pay as much as £25million for new winger signing Luis Sinisterra.
The Whites added Marc Roca, Aaronson and Ramsus Kristensen earlier in the transfer window. But they are actively searching for a replacement for Raphinha, who is wanted by Barcelona, Chelsea and Arsenal.
Romano revealed earlier on Monday that Leeds and the Feyenoord star have agreed personal terms.
There was nevertheless doubt over the fee, although Voetbal International now claims that the two clubs have found common ground on the deal front.
The Dutch source claims that Leeds will pay more than €20million (£17.2million) for Sinisterra. 90min, meanwhile, claims that the transfer could cost the Elland Road side as much as £25million.
90min‘s report adds that Leeds hope to get the deal for Sinisterra over the line this week.
