Leeds Utd 2022/23 Premier League fixtures: Wolves up first as Whites are given decent run of openers

Jesse Marsch celebrates Leeds United survival following Premier League win at Brentford

Leeds United will begin the 2022/23 season with a clash against Wolves on August 6, as the fixtures for the Premier League season were announced.

The Whites, now under the leadership of Jesse Marsch, sailed perilously close to the relegation wind last season. They only survived after a final day win at Brentford, with Burnley instead succumbing to relegation.

They will be hoping their third season back in the big time will be a less nervous affair.

After starting against Bruno Lage’s side, Leeds United next face games against Southamton (a), Chelsea (h) and Brighton (a).

Leeds tackle arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford on September 17 and again at Elland Road on February 11.

The Festive programme sees them take on Manchester City on Boxing Day, with a home date with West Ham scheduled for January 2. A trip to Newcastle on 31 December sandwiches that.

Leeds wrap up their season with matches against Newcastle (h), West Ham (a) and Tottenham (h) with the final day taking place on May 28.

Leeds unsure what squad will look like ahead of big kick-off

The make-up of the Leeds United squad continues to keep fans guessing ahead of the new season.

Marsch’s side have already brought in two new signings in the form of Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen. And a third, in Marc Roca, is expected to be finalised on Friday with the Bayern Munich man undergoing a medical at Elland Road.

However, there remains ongoing doubts if the club will retain the services of their two star men in Raphinha and Kalvin Phillips.

Raphinha continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona, who have long been chasing the Brazilian.

Phillips, meanwhile, is a target for Manchester City with Thursday’s Transfer Gossip reporting he has now confirmed to Leeds that he wants to leave.

A £45m-£50m fee is reportedly in the works.

Leeds, meanwhile, continue to pursue a deal for Adama Traore, with TEAMtalk sources revealing he’s a player Victor Orta remains keen to sign.
