Leeds Utd sink Celtic, Crystal Palace with superb deal agreed for 51-goal striker

Leeds Utd are on the cusp of completing a move for a striker who scored an incredible 51 goals for club and country last season, per a trusted source.

With Daniel Farke installed as the new Leeds Utd manager and an agreement struck that’ll see 49ers Enterprises assume full control of the club, attention can now turn to bouncing back to the Premier League on first attempt.

Farke is arguably the number one figure Leeds could have chosen to help achieve that aim. Indeed, the German twice led Norwich into the top flight when finishing first in the Championship.

But to repeat those heroics at Elland Road, Farke must both retain the cream of the crop at his disposal and make canny additions of his own.

However, clubs must always keep one eye on the future and according to Fabrizio Romano, Leeds Utd have forged an agreement to sign a 16-year-old striker sensation.

The Daily Record brought news of Leeds being in ‘advanced talks’ over the acquisition of Aberdeen’s Lewis Pirie last week.

Now, Romano has confirmed the talks have yielded a breakthrough, with a deal worth £200,000 agreed with Aberdeen.

Pirie will sign a three-year contract running until 2026 and represents a fantastic coup for the Whites.

Indeed, the Daily Record previously reported the likes of Everton and Brighton had scouted Pirie in late-2022.

More recently, Crystal Palace and Celtic were known to be eyeing Pirie up. However, it’s Farke and Leeds Utd who’ll be the ones to sign the Scottish phenom.

Pirie bagged a remarkable 51 goals while playing for the youth ranks of Aberdeen and Scotland last season.

Aberdeen boss Barry Robson was reportedly determined to retain Pirie, though the pull of a move south of the border to Leeds proved too strong.
