The future of Leicester City ace Dennis Praet is up in the air, as his agent is keen to find out where he will be playing next season.
Praet made the loan move to Torino last summer, after concerns over his playing time with the Foxes. The Belgian made just 24 appearances in all competitions last season.
A couple of injuries this season meant he made the same amount of appearances during his loan. However, he was given a chance to prove himself, appearing in every game he was available for.
Praet scored two goals and provided a further two assists during his loan period with Torino. The Serie A outfit had an option to buy Praet, for a reported £12.5million, but opted not to sign him.
As such, his agent is keen to find out where he will be playing next season.
“The question is very simple: Torino had an option to buy him and didn’t exercise it,” he told Area Napoli.
“Serie A has just ended… We are still in contact with Torino, but we have to wait and, of course, we have to understand what Leicester want to do.”
Praet’s agent also acknowledged a stay in Italy could be possible, even at another side.
“We have registered interest from some teams, from Torino and also from other Italian clubs. In the past, we have been in contact with Napoli, but now, honestly, I cannot say what will happen in the future of Dennis,” he added.
“Everything could speed up in a few days or weeks, because the boy wants to know where he will have to start pre-season: it’s a very important step to find a solution in view of next season.”
Praet, Leicester future up in the air
It appears that Praet’s future is up in the air, and his agent is stressing about where he will start the next campaign.
“We don’t know what the English club wants to do and we would like to know what to expect for the new season,” he added.
With Praet’s contract still running at Leicester for a few more years, he could well stay put. However, he is unlikely to want to remain at the side and not play football.
With reports of Youri Tielemans soon leaving the club, Praet could be afforded a bigger role in the midfield.
However, whether or not that is the case remains to be seen. Either way, it is clear he wants to know where he will be playing sooner rather than later.
