Liverpool tipped to sign ‘amazing’ Mo Salah replacement from Serie A, but transfer can only happen on one condition

Liverpool have been backed to bring in a high-quality right winger from Italy in the summer, although the move will only become a reality if Jurgen Klopp gets his team into the Champions League for next season.
Liverpool could require a new player to shine on the right flank amid uncertainty surrounding Mo Salah. The Egyptian has not looked himself in recent weeks. He has managed just one goal in his last eight appearances across all competitions.
To make matters worse for Liverpool, Salah is now being linked with a transfer away from Anfield. According to recent report from Goal, Ligue 1 leaders Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing him. Plus, the Daily Mirror claim the attacker has dined with PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
Despite Salah’s recent struggles in front of goal, Liverpool losing him to the French side would be a major blow. He is usually one of Klopp’s main sources of goals, after all.
Should the 30-year-old complete a shock transfer out of Merseyside, then Liverpool could look to Serie A for his successor.
The Reds are rivalling other major Premier League clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal for the signing of Federico Chiesa.
The three potential suitors were recently given a big lift in their hunt for Chiesa amid news of Juventus’ points deduction. They have had 15 points taken off them in Serie A for ‘financial irregularities’ and ‘false accounting’.
The Bianconeri now sit in 13th spot, way behind Italy’s top four. As such, they are highly unlikely to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Liverpool told to raid Juventus for top star
Pundit Paul Robinson has told Liverpool to pounce on the situation by launching an offer for Chiesa. They might even be able to sign the Italy wide man for less than his actual transfer value due to Juve’s desperation.
However, given Chiesa’s demands of playing in the Champions League, Liverpool will have to make the Premier League top four this season to have any chance of convincing the 25-year-old to join.
“I think he [Chiesa] will come to England in the summer,” Robinson said in an interview with Football Insider.
“Juventus will not have Champions League football next year. Players like Chiesa will want to play in the Champions League. I think it will be very difficult for Juventus to keep hold of him.
“I do not think he will be the only one either. We might see a few Juventus players moving to the Premier League in the summer.
Potential Liverpool signing is ‘an amazing player’
“Chiesa is an amazing player. I would not be surprised if a club like Liverpool makes a bid for him in the summer because he’s got so many great attributes.”
Chiesa showed his talent while representing Italy at Euro 2020. He netted two goals to help Roberto Mancini’s side win the tournament.
Unfortunately for the pacy attacker, he tore his ACL in January 2022, which ended his season. Chiesa returned for Juve in November, though he is still getting back up to speed and is yet to register a league goal.
If he can get back to his devastating best, he could be one of the few players capable of replacing Salah for Liverpool. The futures of Chiesa and Salah will certainly be ones to watch in the summer transfer window.
Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano has discussed the potential for Liverpool to sign a new La Liga midfield target.
