Disastrous Liverpool exit mooted as Jurgen Klopp holds talks with huge club where he could manage Jude Bellingham

A bombshell report out of France has claimed Jurgen Klopp’s camp have held ‘informal’ talks over becoming the next manager of a European giant who could sign Jude Bellingham this summer.

A whopping 12 Premier League managers have been sacked this season, with Brendan Rodgers and Graham Potter the latest to fall on Sunday.

Jurgen Klopp is among those who’ve remained in power, though the German recently joked his time could soon be up amid a dismal campaign at Anfield.

“Elephant in the room is why I am still sitting here in this crazy world,” said Klopp when asked about Rodgers and Potter.

“The last man standing (longest-serving manager in the Premier League).

He added: “I’m aware of the fact I’m sitting here because of the past and not because of what we did this season.

“If this was my first season it would be slightly different. Yes, we have smart owners who know about the situation. Better ask them why that’s the case!”

Klopp’s contract on Merseyside doesn’t expire until 2026. As yet, there’s been virtually nothing to suggest he’s ready to call time on his storied spell with the club.

However, according to a remarkable report from French outlet Le 10 Sport, that has now changed.

They claim Klopp is beginning to feel the situation at Liverpool is ‘fragile’ and as such, ‘probably’ feels this summer is the right time to leave.

If that scenario does transpire, the 55-year-old wouldn’t have long to wait before finding his next club.

Klopp to link up with Bellingham at Real Madrid?

Le 10 Sport add Klopp has been installed as Real Madrid’s ‘priority’ target to replace the under pressure Carlo Ancelotti.

Ancelotti guided Real to a LaLiga and Champions League double last term. However, the past counts for very little at the Bernabeu and with Barcelona running away with the league this term, Ancelotti is feeling the heat.

Real are also a goal down to Barca after the first leg of their two-legged Copa del Rey semi-final. Defeat there – along with failing to retain the Champions League – will likely spell the end for Ancelotti.

The French outlet’s reporting stems from the fact France legend Zinedine Zidane would also be a contender to succeed Ancelotti. However, they are firm in their statement that Klopp is the favoured choice of the Real hierarchy.

To that end, it’s even claimed Klopp’s camp have held ‘informal exchanges’ with the Spanish side.

One way in which Real could aid their cause is by promising to sign known Klopp favourite, Jude Bellingham.

The England ace has a huge fan in Klopp and is Liverpool’s No 1 transfer target this summer.

However failure to qualify for next season’s Champions League could negatively affect their chances of pulling off what would be a £100m-plus coup. If the Reds miss out, Man City and Real Madrid are known to be waiting in the wings.

Regardless, it’s important to note the report acknowledges luring Klopp away from Anfield will be ‘complex’.

As previously mentioned, Klopp has publicly stated his desire to remain at Liverpool and his recent comments on transfers suggest he’s thinking about who he’ll be bringing to Anfield over the summer, not the Bernabeu.

“We will spend in the summer, that’s what I can say, definitely,” said Klopp (via 90min). “The club will spend in the summer, definitely.

“For who and how many? There’s nothing to say about it really…we are busy, you can imagine.”

For the time being at least, Liverpool fans need not be too concerned about losing one of their greatest ever managers later in 2023.
