Divock Origi labelled ‘part-time player’ as pundit urges AC Milan to sign summer alternative

Italian pundit Federico Zancan has urged AC Milan to stay clear of signing “part-time player” Divock Origi this summer and has offered an alternative.
Origi looks certain to leave Liverpool this summer and numerous sources have claimed the striker is heading to Milan. The 26-year-old will be a free agent with his Anfield contract expiring. Origi did hold a clause that would’ve triggered an automatic 12-month extension at Liverpool. However, the appearance requirements to activate that clause can no longer be achieved.
Therefore the Belgium forward will leave on a free transfer and AC Milan are confident of bringing Origi to the San Siro.
Led by technical director Paolo Maldini, the Rossoneri have reportedly reached a partial agreement with Origi’s representatives.
Fabrizio Romano has stated that Origi is looking for a new challenge. While, Gianluca DiMarzio says the club and player have both given the green light to a four-year deal that would see him signed until 2026.
The salary was a sticking point, but Football Italia claim a £64,000-a-week deal has been agreed. And Origi looks bound for the San Siro.
However, Sky Italia’s Zancan is concerned about the attacker’s lack of game time.
Origi has made 171 Liverpool appearances since arriving in 2015, but only 68 of those have been starts.

Klopp urged to sign Conor Gallagher from Chelsea this summer
Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher currently on loan to Crystal Palace is being spoken about with a potential move to Liverpool this summer
Zancan told Radio Rossonera, as cited by Sport Witness: “He’s a part-time player, and despite having little space, he has remained and become a cult for Liverpool fans.
Broja a better option than Origi
“He’s a strong player and is very attractive to big teams in Europe. In the last season, Klopp has also used him out wide.”
But Zancan does not seem keen and has offered an alternative – Chelsea striker Armando Broja, who is on loan at Southampton.
Zancan added: “He is a very strong player and is waiting to be discovered. I would take him instead of Origi.
“He is owned by Chelsea, so it will be difficult to go get him but the London team will be able to sell him given the many talents they have at home. But it’s complicated.”
Broja, 20, has scored six goals in 25 Premier League games for Saints. He is under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2026.
His value is around £16m, as per Transfermarkt, but Chelsea rate him highly. And Tuttomercatoweb say the Blues value the player at a minimum of £57.8m.
