Liverpool encouraged to make ‘concrete’ Jude Bellingham offer, as Borussia Dortmund controversy develops with pivotal meeting scheduled

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham

Those close to Jude Bellingham are ready for Liverpool to make a “concrete” offer to sign him from Borussia Dortmund, where he is beginning to become a topic of annoyance, according to reports in Germany.

Bellingham is Liverpool’s top target for the summer of 2023. They seem like the ideal fit for him in terms of returning to English football. Indeed, Liverpool will need to strengthen their midfield in the new year with an eye to the long term.

Signing Bellingham will not come cheap, but would be an investment for the present and future. And there is some optimism that even with their potential change of ownership, Liverpool might be ready to strike.

For now, their interest is in the background as Bellingham focuses on his current commitments with Borussia Dortmund.

But according to German source Sport Bild, the Bundesliga side are preparing themselves to receive offers for the midfielder next summer.

What’s more, his family are now “demanding concrete offers” from his suitors, such as Liverpool. In turn, they can get closer to actual negotiations.

Bellingham remains under contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2025. However, they might be willing to get rid of him before then.

According to the report, it has become a source of controversy that Bellingham is the club’s third captain. Some of his teammates are annoyed about the situation.

Hence, Borussia Dortmund might be ready to move on from the 19-year-old. First, they will hold a meeting with him after the World Cup to discover his intentions about a move away.

Liverpool in three-horse race for Jude Bellingham

If he is to leave, it won’t automatically be to Liverpool. The report also mentions fellow Premier League sides Chelsea and Manchester City as contenders for his signature.

Either of them would be able to spend big on Bellingham, so Liverpool will have to work hard to win the race for the former Birmingham City starlet.

Several outlets have indicated that Liverpool are ready to focus their energy on signing Bellingham. But it appears his entourage want them to start getting more serious in their pursuit.

Bellingham has never played in the Premier League, having been taken straight from the Championship with Birmingham City to the Bundesliga by Borussia Dortmund.

His form in Germany since then has made him a full England international and someone who is clearly capable of making an impact in the English top flight.

Until he actually makes a move, there will be plenty of anticipation about who might give Jude Bellingham that chance.
