Euro Paper Talk: Klopp must act fast as Ten Hag plans Man Utd transfer hijack for £26m attacker; competition rises for Leeds winger target

Youssoufa Moukoko Borussia Dortmund

An attacker Liverpool want to lure to Anfield has become the subject of Manchester United interest amid a more pressing battle for his services, while Leeds United are not alone in their remaining admiration of a winger – all in Wednesday’s Euro transfer gossip.

MAN UTD RIVAL LIVERPOOL FOR MOUKOKO

Liverpool are battling with the likes of Manchester United for the signature of Borussia Dortmund starlet Youssoufa Moukoko, according to a report that has revealed how another fight for his services could push him to the Premier League.

Moukoko has not yet reached the age of 18 but already has double figures of Bundesliga goals to his name. For Borussia Dortmund, he has scored six times in the German top flight this season, after two last time around and three the term before.

His form has put him on the radar of several elite clubs who are eyeing him as a talent to invest in for the future.

Liverpool have been among the main clubs to be linked in recent weeks. However, they would face competition from some close rivals.

According to Sport Bild, both Liverpool and Manchester United are in contention for the signing of Moukoko – and either may be benefitted by the fact that a number of leading agencies want to take over the running of his career.

The report speculates that some of the agencies who want to snap up Moukoko – which would include the Unique Sports Group and the late Mino Raiola’s setup – could push him towards the Premier League.

The package would cost around €30million, which is just over £26million. Whoever orchestrates the transfer on his behalf could earn more than €10million (£8.8million) of that.

Moukoko could yet stay with Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund want Moukoko to ignore the advances of any Premier League clubs. They would rather he extends his contract with them, which is due to expire at the end of the season.

Moukoko will first be sorting out who represents him, though, before making any decision about where to continue his club career.

Depending on who starts looking after him, after a rift grew with his previous representative, Liverpool or Manchester United might have a better chance of landing him.

That said, it would come as a result of an agent being advantageous and seeking a quick profit for themselves. Moukoko must ensure any decision he makes is in the best interests of his own career.

But with his potential clear, the idea of a Premier League transfer is not likely to go away any time soon.
