A Brazilian starlet on Manchester United’s radar has revealed his desire to play for Liverpool, while Thursday’s Euro Paper Talk claims that Chelsea are ready to offer a top star as bait in their bid to land Tottenham target Nicolo Zaniolo from Roma.

BRAZILIAN STARLET DREAMS OF LIVERPOOL MOVE

Brazilian midfielder Joao Gomes has revealed his dream is to play for Liverpool, following recent links to the Premier League and Manchester United in particular.

The 21-year-old has become a regular starter for Flamengo and his performances have been attracting interest from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

And this week, taking part in a live-streaming event on Instagram, Gomes revealed his wish to join Jurgen Klopp’s men.

“Liverpool are a team I’d play for. I have the greatest desire to play,” said Gomes (via ESPN Brasil).

“Playing in the Champions League is my biggest dream and that of my family, my biggest dream in football.”

Recent reports in Brazil suggested that United are keen on striking a deal for the youngster. Indeed, after having scouts watch the midfielder they were willing to pay £32million for his services.

The report adds that Flamengo adding Arturo Vidal, Everton Cebolinha and Oscar to their team this summer could see the Brazilian side cash in on Gomes – leaving Liverpool and United monitoring the situation closely.

Sarr still an option for Liverpool

Meanwhile, a separate report claims that Klopp is still interested in signing Watford winger Ismaila Sarr.

Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that the Reds should not be ruled out of a move for the attacker.

And after reports of Leeds closing in on a move proved to be false, Liverpool’s links to Sarr have resurfaced again.

The Senegal star would be a like-for-like replacement for Sadio Mane. However, Liverpool already have that man in place in Luis Diaz.

To that end, it’s hard to see where Sarr fits in at Anfield, especially given that the Reds also have a true No.9 on board in Darwin Nunez.

The best Sarr could hope for on Merseyside is a rotational role in Klopp’s front three. But that may not be enough for a player who is a guaranteed starter at Vicarage Road.
