Euro Paper Talk: Klopp offers Liverpool project to £77m Real Madrid star as talks ramp up

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has made contact over a £77million Real Madrid raid, while Chelsea are eyeing up a Leicester star – both in all the latest Euro Paper Talk.

KLOPP WANTS RODRYGO AT LIVERPOOL

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has reached out to the representatives of Real Madrid winger Rodrygo over a potential deal, according to a report.

The Reds have enjoyed a fantastic set of goalscorers at Anfield under Klopp, which is constantly evolving. While the futures of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane remain unclear, Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz have adapted quickly.

The contracts for Mane and Salah expire next summer and they could yet both leave Anfield. As a result, manager Klopp is looking out for new additions to keep freshening up his Liverpool ranks.

According to El Nacional, Brazil international Rodrygo is a serious target for the Reds.

Klopp has supposedly contacted the 21-year-old’s camp to express his interest in signing him and explain the Liverpool project to him. What’s more, the Anfield club ‘would consider’ paying Rodrygo’s €90million (£77million) release clause.

Rodrygo’s Madrid contract expires in 2025. Reports in November revealed talks over new terms including a €1billion (£856million) release clause.

However, he has yet to pen a new contract, with El Nacional adding that Rodrygo will consider leaving Madrid if his game time does not improve.

The report adds that he is ‘still not important’ to Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti.

Liverpool are interested in signing Real Madrid winger Rodrygo for €90m this summer

The winger wants to play a central role for Brazil at the Qatar World Cup and realises he needs more game time.

Rodrygo has played 48 games this season, but 16 of his 34 La Liga appearances have come from the bench. He did, though, score two goals to lead Madrid’s stunning Champions League comeback win over Manchester City, which set up Saturday’s final against Liverpool.

His agent revealed earlier this year that Liverpool were the first team to offer his client a professional contract, when he was 16 and still at Santos.
