Euro Paper Talk: Triple transfer raid on for Klopp with Prem playmaker to join as part of new £251m Liverpool axis; Man City blow Man Utd away with club-record bid made
Liverpool are ready to make three huge signings to alter their midfield, with an England playmaker also now wanted, Manchester City are ready to spend more than £93m on one player, while Tuesday’s Euro Paper Talk has details of three right-backs Man Utd want to sign.
JAMES MADDISON TO BE SUBJECT OF MASSIVE LIVERPOOL BID
Liverpool are reportedly planning three major signings in 2023 that will completely change the look of their midfield.
The Reds have looked short in the engine room this season in light of a number of injury issues. And with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita due to move on at the end of their deals, Liverpool need some new recruits.
Indeed, the situation is exasperated by suggestions that this may also be the last season for James Milner at Amfield. Turning 37 in less than a month, the veteran star is seemingly nearing the end of the line.
As a result, Jurgen Klopp is reportedly on the look out for three new additions in the midfield department.
The biggest of the lot is likely to be Jude Bellingham. Klopp’s interest in the teenage England star is well know and Liverpool are favourites to secure his signature.
Borussia Dortmund are well aware of the growing interest in his services. And they have already made clear their preference to sell to Liverpool.
To that end, a deal in the region of £105m is likely to go through in the summer. The Reds do hope to get that done in January, but by multiple accounts, a move in the summer appears most likely.
He will reportedly be joined at Anfield by England teammate, James Maddison.
The Leicester star was a late inclusion in the squad to go to Qatar, though he will have been disappointed to not kick a competitive ball.
Liverpool want Enzo Fernandez to join Maddison and Bellingham
Nonetheless, his qualities are well known to Klopp and reports in Spain claim he will be the subject of a massive approach from the Reds in January.
The Foxes do not want to sell but an offer worth £60m will reportedly be enough to seal the deal.
The Reds won’t stop there, however, and a third, blockbuster deal is also seemingly in the works.
Per reports on Monday, the Reds are close to reaching an agreement with Benfica to sign Enzo Fernandez.
The midfielder has impressed during Argentina’s run to the World Cup semi-finals and a giant move now appears on the cards.
Now O Jogo has backed up those claims and provides more details on the deal Liverpool are to secure.
They claim Liverpool will pay £86m (€100m) to bring the 21-year-old to Anfield, with the move also potentially going through in January.
And he will form a new-look Reds axis with Maddison in an advanced role and Fernandez and Bellingham in behind.
The triple deal will reportedly set FSG back an eye-watering £251m in total, though they hope to fund that by attracting new investment.
