Liverpool reach agreement to sign thrilling new attacker with finer details and Klopp’s plans revealed

Fulham attacker Fabio Carvalho

Fulham attacker Fabio Carvalho will be a Liverpool player next season and a trusted source has shed light on every aspect of the deal – including Jurgen Klopp’s plans for next season.

The Reds came within a whisker of signing the 19-year-old Fulham attacker in January. A medical was completed and an agreement struck over the fee. The two clubs had even agreed on Carvalho being loaned back to Craven Cottage for the remainder of the campaign.

However, the final details of the move could not be completed before the deadline came and went, thus leaving Carvalho’s future in limbo.

There had been talk of rival clubs plotting to hijack Liverpool’s deal. However, Jurgen Klopp insisted there was no reason why the Reds wouldn’t reignite the deal in the summer.

Fabio Carvalho – who has operated primarily in an attacking midfield role this season – will become a free agent when the season ends.

That opened up the possibility of a tribunal bring required to determine what level of fee Liverpool would pay Fulham if he moved.

However, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has revealed a tribunal will no longer be needed after the two clubs agreed to simply revive their January terms.

Fulham to include hefty sell-on clause

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the trusted journalist said: “The agreement between Fabio Carvalho and Liverpool, and between Liverpool and Fulham is imminent.”

Shedding light on the finer details of the deal – including a hefty sell-on clause Fulham are likely to include – Romano added: “Liverpool are respecting the pact they had with Fulham [in January].

“They will pay £5m as a guaranteed fee plus £2.7m in add-ons.

“There will also be a sell-on clause which is yet to be determined. But I’m told it has to be around 20 percent.

“For the player the agreement is for five years [until 2027].”

While Romano signed off on the move with his signature “here we go” on Twitter, he was keen to stress official confirmation from either club won’t come any time soon.

“The announcement won’t be now, but it’s expected in the coming weeks or months, maybe May,” continued Romano. “We will see.

“But he will become a Liverpool player at the end of the season.”

Fabio Carvalho could make instant Anfield impact

Regarding Klopp’s plans for Carvalho next season, Romano said: “There is no plan to loan him back to Fulham or to any other club.

“There is a good chance at the moment that he’ll stay at Liverpool next season.

“This is not 100 percent yet because Klopp and his staff members will make that call in pre-season. But there is a good chance he’ll stay at Liverpool next year.

“The player has already visited Liverpool’s training ground and has already met with Jurgen Klopp. He’s just waiting for the final details and then he’ll become the next Liverpool signing.”

Carvalho has bagged eight goals and seven assists this year and has been a key component in helping Fulham be on the verge of returning to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
