Fabio Carvalho: Next club named as Liverpool attacking midfielder gets evaluated by Champions League hopefuls

Fabio Carvalho arriving for a Liverpool match

The identity of one of the clubs considering taking Fabio Carvalho away from Liverpool next season has been revealed by a report.

Carvalho joined Liverpool from Fulham last summer, initially looking like an exciting prospect. However, he has struggled to earn regular gametime in recent months. Therefore, there has been speculation that he could leave on loan in the summer.

Respected sources such as Fabrizio Romano have confirmed Liverpool’s plans to lend Carvalho to another club. By doing so, the 20-year-old will be able to continue his development, rather than seeing his talent go to waste.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has denied that a final decision has been made about Carvalho. But while the possibility of him leaving on loan remains, clubs will be queuing up with interest.

According to Takvim, Galatasaray are one of the clubs willing to take a look into a loan deal for Carvalho. The Turkish source suggests that the Super Lig leaders’ technical committee will be tasked with producing a report about the player’s qualities.

From that point on, Galatasaray officials will carefully evaluate whether to make an approach for Carvalho or not. But for the time being, he is at least on their agenda.

Since they are currently top of the Turkish Super Lig standings by six points with seven games remaining, Galatasaray are aiming to have Champions League football on offer next season. Therefore, they could give Carvalho a good level of football to keep progressing in.

Galatasaray eyeing Liverpool transfer opportunities

Coincidentally, they have also been suggested as one of the contenders to sign Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino when he becomes a free agent in the summer – although the claims about him giving his word to Galatasaray appear to have been premature.

Only time will tell whether Carvalho could become a concrete option for Galatasaray too. Perhaps Liverpool’s preference would be to send him somewhere else in the Premier League, to further help him adapt to the English top-flight.

But they would have to assess any offer that comes their way for their prospect, who remains under contract on Merseyside until 2027.

So far in his Liverpool career, Carvalho has made 20 appearances – including 12 in the Premier League – scoring three goals. He has featured either as a winger or more centrally in midfield.

Liverpool will be changing their midfield options in the summer transfer window, which might affect Carvalho’s chances of featuring there further. Yet he could thrive in a more advanced role anyway.

But with the likes of Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Harvey Elliott and Diogo Jota to contend with, Carvalho would still have his work cut out for him in the short term.

A loan spell away might be in his best interests until things settle down. In the future, though, Carvalho still has the potential to make an impact in Liverpool colours.
