Pundit reveals where Liverpool, Man City place among elite league leaders Bayern and Real

Former Liverpool defender Glen Johnson has given his verdict on where Liverpool or Manchester City would finish if they were to compete in La Liga or the German Bundesliga.
Liverpool and City are engaging in another fierce Premier League title battle which could go down to the final day. The two sides played out a thoroughly entertaining 2-2 draw at the Etihad on Sunday.
Manchester City have one point more than the Reds after 31 matches, putting them top. Pep Guardiola’s men also have a slightly easier run-in.
Liverpool must play Manchester United twice, Tottenham and Wolves before the season is up. However, they are high in confidence thanks to a 12-game unbeaten run in the league.
Elsewhere in Europe, Real Madrid have fought off Sevilla to go 12 points ahead in the race for the Spanish league title. Barcelona are in great form and have a game in hand, although Los Blancos are unlikely to be caught.
In Germany, Bayern are nine points ahead of closest rivals Dortmund. They are on course to win their 10th straight Bundesliga title.
Glen Johnson heaps praise on Liverpool and City
Johnson, who made 200 appearances for Liverpool and 71 for Chelsea, has made a big claim about Liverpool and City when it comes to winning league titles.
When asked if Jurgen Klopp’s side can still usurp City, he said (via Liverpool Echo): “Yes, absolutely.
“It’s a shame because both teams are good enough to win the Premier League. The standard of the game shows you where the two teams are at.
“Either team could have won that game, it was just two giants going toe to toe, and right now I don’t think anyone can pick the winner of the league just yet.
“Both Liverpool and Manchester City would probably win every league around the world.
“Even with the top four, to be honest, I think the standard of the Premier League has really escalated.”
The two sides are also hoping to win the Champions League and FA Cup. Liverpool play Benfica in the UCL on Wednesday, while City come up against Atletico.
They then travel to Wembley to play each other in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday afternoon.
