Liverpool have been told there is an opportunity there to sign Harry Kane this summer and his signing would take Jurgen Klopp’s side to the next level.
The Reds are enjoying another excellent season under the German’s guidance. With the Carabao Cup already in the back, Liverpool are also through to the FA Cup semi-finals and the Champions League quarter-finals. Furthermore, they can go top of the Premier League by beating Watford on Saturday lunchtime.
Ahead of the game, Klopp is being backed to make a big first-team call. You can see our Predicted Liverpool line-up for the Anfield clash right here.
With Liverpool still in the running to win four trophies, the Reds are already turning attentions towards the summer transfer window. They, of course do still have some burning questions over the future of Mohamed Salah.
Talks over his new contract continue to drag on – and for that reason Liverpool may need to sell him this summer. That’s certainly the opinion of Ally McCoist when he exclusively told us how he sees Salah’s fate playing out.
As such, it’s little surprise to see Liverpool FC casting their eye on potential replacements.
The likes of Raphinha and Karim Adeyemi have both been mentioned as potential targets. Just lately, the name of PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo was thrown into the air as well.
However, pundit Ian Wright has told Klopp he should look closer to home. And rather than signing a goalscoring winger – as is the way Klopp likes to play – Wright thinks he should bring in an out-and-out striker.
And who better than the current England captain in Kane!
World class talent
Wright told The Kelly and Wrighty Show: “You can see why teams would want him [Harry Kane], any team in the world would want him.
“Just look at his finishing and his hunger and his consistency. When he does finally retire, you just hope he’s won something. I hope he can win something because he deserves it. He looks happier now but he has a big decision to make.”
Wright added: “Imagine Harry Kane at Liverpool… If I had the capability of getting Kane and putting him in Liverpool’s side with [Mohamed] Salah, or [Sadio] Mane or [Luis] Diaz and playing as the number nine, dropping deep and doing his stuff…

“It won’t be how Firmino does it, those lovely bit of skills and stuff. But Kane can drop in and help create because the two could run behind. If it was available to me, I would definitely look at it because it’s Harry Kane, and he will score.
“People talk about Firmino and the fact he doesn’t score enough goals. Firmino misses too many chances. Harry Kane doesn’t miss those chances.”
Harry Kane at a career crossroads
As with Salah, Kane himself has an important choice to make this summer.
For all the goals he has scored at Tottenham, he is yet to get his hands on silverware. And for a player of his abilities, that would be a crying shame.
As such, it’s little wonder to see him being talked about for another big-money move this summer.
Manchester City, of course, made two big pushes to sign him last summer, only for Daniel Levy to hold firm.
Their interest though is now seemingly on the wane with a deal for Erling Haaland looking more likely.
But for Kane, he could yet secure a move to Manchester United this summer. They are in the process of reviewing their attacking options themselves. To that end, Anthony Martial and Edinson Cavani seem certain to leave. However, it is the possible exit of Cristiano Ronaldo that would open up space for a big-money striker signing.
Whether they move for Kane, of course, remains to be seen.
However, with Wright also suggesting Kane at Liverpool, it certainly makes for an interesting summer for the Tottenham No 9.
