Huge Jude Bellingham update as likely winner named between Liverpool, Real Madrid thanks to club ties

A report has revealed which club Jude Bellingham is more likely to sign for between Liverpool and Real Madrid as a result of their close ties with Borussia Dortmund.
Bellingham is pretty much set to depart Dortmund once the summer transfer window opens in 2023. While the German side would love to keep him and are reportedly planning a fresh contract, it is clear the midfielder is ready to join one of Europe’s most coveted teams.
Bellingham’s performances, stats, profile and temperament all suggest he could be one of the best midfielders in the world for years to come.
Having signed the Englishman from Birmingham for £25million in July 2020, Dortmund will make a big profit if he does go.
Sources have suggested his eventual exit fee could be anywhere between £87m and £130m. This will give Dortmund plenty of money to land a midfield replacement, while also improve a couple of other positions.
Chelsea and Manchester United admire Bellingham and would love to sign him if such an opportunity came about. However, Liverpool and Real are thought to be the frontrunners for the Stourbridge-born player.
Liverpool are willing to spend big money on him to solve their midfield problems. Of course, Jurgen Klopp’s side captured Arthur Melo on deadline day, but he will likely be sent back to Juventus in January after an injury-hit spell at Anfield.
On Wednesday, German outlet Bild provided a big update on Bellingham’s future. They claim his family are ‘demanding concrete offers’ from his potential suitors so transfer talks can properly begin.
Real edge ahead of Liverpool for Jude Bellingham
Spanish newspaper AS now provide more information on the transfer hunt. They state Real have the upper hand over Liverpool, mainly thanks to club president Florentino Perez.
The Los Blancos chief apparently has a good relationship with Hans-Joachim Watzke, Dortmund’s chief executive officer. This is ‘good news’ for Real as it means Perez has a great chance of convincing Watzke to negotiate with them.
Real are now the likely winners in the Bellingham race. Signing him would allow them to select an incredible midfield three of Bellingham, Federico Valverde and Aurelien Tchouameni once Luka Modric and Toni Kroos retire.
To make things even scarier for opposition teams, Real also have Eduardo Camavinga in their squad.
Liverpool missing out on Bellingham would be a huge blow. Their midfield desperately needs a revamp and he is the ideal man to provide that.
There are alternatives, notably RB Leipzig’s Konrad Laimer and Alberto Moleiro of Las Palmas. The latter has affectionately been labelled ‘the next Pedri’ by journalists in Spain.
England star the ideal Liverpool signing
However, there is good reason to suggest Bellingham would be by far the top capture for Liverpool. It would be a real signal of intent for them to get him in ahead of Real.
While the report provides bad news for Liverpool fans, they shouldn’t get down-hearted just yet.
After all, the most important people when it comes to deciding Bellingham’s next destination will be the player himself and his family.
As Real already have such an incredibly strong midfield, they might be worried about Bellingham always starting. Whereas at Liverpool, he would be one of the first names on the team sheet for all the big matches.
This could be a big factor in affecting where Bellingham ends up, once his Dortmund departure goes through.
Meanwhile, Andy Robertson has heaped glowing praise on a young Liverpool man.
