Liverpool hopes of winning the Jude Bellingham transfer race have been given a significant shot in the arm after a telling admission from Borussia Dortmund’s managing director.

The England teenager is one of the hottest talents in the game with his reputation growing on the back of some superb displays at the World Cup. He has arguably proved England’s best player over their three group games and will again be key when they tackle Senegal for a place in the quarter-finals.

Such is the 19-year-old’s immense qualities that his displays in Qatar have caused a number of BBC pundits to lose their minds.

Fair to say he’s not the only World Cup star to further his reputation out in Qatar.

Pushed into a more advanced role this season for Dortmund, the teenager has responded with four goals from five Champions League outings.

He’s also worn their captain’s armband on occasions this season to underline his incredible maturity.

Now well past 100 appearances for Dortmund, demand for Bellingham has never been higher. The clamour to sign him is led by Liverpool, who are desperate to get their hands on the teenager. To that end, Jordan Henderson has given the Reds a helping hand, according to an Everton man.

The Reds, though, are not alone with Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City and Real Madrid also extremely keen.

David Seaman has also raised the prospect of Arsenal getting in on the act and beating their rivals to his signature.

As a result, it’s little surprise to see Bellingham being talked about in the £130m (€150m) bracket.

Dortmund are likely to demand the sky-high fee to let him leave and it’s fair to say a number of clubs look willing to pay it.

Dortmund director wants to sell Jude Bellingham to Liverpool

Ultimately, Bellingham’s next destination will come down to the player. To that end, TEAMtalk recently revealed that one big-name suitor has been ruled out the running by the player.

However, it is Liverpool who are seemingly in  the driving seat. Bellingham reportedly supported the Reds as a boy and he has made clear his admiration on several occasions to iconic former Reds midfielder Steven Gerrard.

Now their hopes of securing his signing have been given a the biggest push forward yet. That’s with Dortmund MD Carsten Cramer revealing he wants to sell Bellingham to the Merseysiders.

However, Cramer has warned suitors of the player not to expect to sign the teenager on the cheap.

“He has a contract,” he began. “I’m a salesperson regarding commercial business but not regarding the players’ business.

“We both are happy to have him on board, and the longer Jude will play for us, the better it will be.”

Dortmund talk up good Liverpool relations

Giving Liverpool hope of a deal, Cramer continued: “We have a high sympathy for Liverpool for sure.

“We are still in a good relationship with Jurgen and many others at Liverpool, so for me, it’s my preferred club in the EPL as well.

“But don’t expect that we will make gifts to Liverpool.”

That certainly gives Klopp and Co cause for optimism.

Any deal, though, is likely to set them back a club-record fee. That currently stands at the £85m agreement with Benfica for Darwin Nunez.

However, with Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain due to leave on frees, Liverpool have an immediate space in their midfield opening up.

And the opportunity to sign Bellingham is absolutely one the Reds will surely not pass up.
