Jurgen Klopp makes massive Liverpool January transfer claim with one position needing boost

Jurgen Klopp has hinted that Liverpool are looking to sign a new forward in the January transfer window after injuries to both Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota.
The two Reds attackers are both sidelined long-term, although Diaz is expected to return sooner than Jota as Klopp looks for a strong second half of the campaign after a struggle so far.
The Anfield outfit are currently sixth in the table, having only won six of their opening 14 games, and face Aston Villa later on Boxing Day.
But with Diaz and Jota both still out, Klopp wants to give his side a new signing to potentially turn their fortunes.
The Reds did just that last January when they beat Tottenham to the £49million addition of Diaz, And now a similar scenario could unfold when the January window opens from Sunday.
Liverpool have been linked Borussia Dortmund’s Youssufa Moukoko. However, they will face competition from Chelsea and Manchester United for the exciting attacker’s signature.
Klopp remains upbeat but hints at transfer lift
And speaking ahead of the clash with Villa, Klopp admits he is feeling confident about what the club can achieve during the second half of the campaign, despite the break for the World Cup proving tricky.
He said: “All the signs I got in the Dubai training camp were super positive.
“I trust in our process and the things we do. It was completely different to pre-season. Completely different.
‘In all the games I saw we were going in the right direction. I am positive we can pick up where we left off rather than go back to the start of the season.”
Klopp also discussed the potential of adding to his squad. And he admits the forward areas are in need of a boost.
The Liverpool chief added: “I don’t want to start talking about it now but we have two long-term injuries up front which is not helpful. Never was, never will be.
“Last season we had Luis Diaz come in (January) which was very helpful for that part of the season, everybody would see that the same way. But doing something again that is very positive – why not?’”
