Jurgen Klopp told he must sign sublime midfield creator for Liverpool instead of Ryan Gravenberch, but Tottenham pose threat

A pundit has explained why Jurgen Klopp should consider a move for one of the Eredivisie’s best players instead of going after Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch.
Gravenberch has emerged as a target for Liverpool since they decided to stop pursuing Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund. Bellingham’s £120million price tag is simply too much for Liverpool to match if they are going to improve other parts of the squad as well.
Fabrizio Romano provided an update on Liverpool’s hunt for Gravenberch on Thursday. The Italian journalist revealed Liverpool are ‘still pushing’ to complete a deal as they view the 20-year-old as ‘a perfect signing’.
This is due to the fact Gravenberch will cost far less than Bellingham, while he also wants to leave Bayern after a tough first season there.
However, Romano also explained how Bayern ‘have no intention to negotiate’ as they want the player to stay.
Due to this, Klopp could be set for disappointment in his pursuit of the exciting young Netherlands international.
Instead, Dutch pundit Aad de Mos has urged the Reds boss to consider swooping in for Feyenoord captain Orkun Kokcu.
The Turk has established himself as a top performer in the Netherlands, having notched 12 goals and four assists in 41 games this season.
Liverpool, Tottenham backed to land Feyenoord talisman
However, De Mos did also urge several other teams, including Tottenham, to look into capturing Kokcu.
“I think Lazio and Roma, AC Milan and Tottenham, those are teams that [he] could definitely fit,” De Mos said (via Feyenoord News).
“If it’s a coach who wants to play attacking football and wants to play good football, then possibly, because it’s all grafted on young players, if Gravenberch can play at Liverpool, and Gakpo, he can also play at Liverpool.
“I think he should look at a club that really suits him. He shouldn’t make the mistake of going to Bayern Munich because of course it’s a hierarchy that determines who plays and who doesn’t, and also determines whether a coach is good enough.
“You’ve seen that now with Nagelsmann and Tuchel, the situation. He [Kokcu] has to look at a team where the coach really wants him, then I think it’s mainly with Liverpool.”
Kokcu’s top performances for Feyenoord have resulted in Arsenal and Leicester taking a look at him. But now Liverpool could beat them to a deal.
Feyenoord would not want to lose the 22-year-old as he is so important to the way they play. However, with his contract expiring in June 2025, Liverpool may be able to get him this summer or next. And he should not cost as much as some of their other targets, like Alexis Mac Allister or Matheus Nunes.
