Liverpool revolution coming with multiple signings to spawn from superstar nine-man shortlist

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp

Jurgen Klopp is targeting multiple additions in two key positions that’ll bring forth a Liverpool revolution, and a report has revealed a nine-man list of transfer targets the signings are likely to come from.

Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday provided a timely reminder the Reds still require major surgery if they’re to get back to challenging for top honours next season.

The usually unflappable Virgil van Dijk was given a torrid time by Dango Ouattara and Dominic Solanke. Elsewhere, the midfield were often powerless to prevent the Cherries launching counter after counter on the break.

A midfield overhaul is known to be on the agenda at Anfield this summer. If the need to add fresh faces wasn’t evident enough by this season’s displays, the fact many will leave makes it essential.

Indeed, Arthur Melo’s loan deal will expire and the option to buy from Juventus won’t be triggered. Elsewhere, Fabrizio Romano suggested there’s no plans in place to offer Naby Keita or Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain new contracts.

That pair are out of contract in the summer and are destined to leave for free. James Milner is another whose deal is up in June.

Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham is the club’s primary target. A recent update from talkSPORT provided the Reds with an encouraging triple update in their pursuit of the England ace.

However, the midfield additions cannot stop at just one and per Sky Germany, there may be new arrivals in central defence too.

Liverpool to strengthen in defence and midfield

Sky Germany report Liverpool ‘are on the verge of upheaval’ in the market and stress change is ‘imminent’.

Klopp recently pulled rank and categorically stated Liverpool will do big business in the summer “100 percent”, adding “it will happen”.

Bellingham is confirmed to be Liverpool’s ‘top target’. However, the report details eight more Reds targets who could join the Dortmund phenom in leading the next phase in Liverpool’s evolution.

At centre-back, RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Frankfurt’s Evan Ndicka and Jurrien Timber of Ajax are on Klopp’s radar.

Gvardiol would unquestionably represent the highest profile addition of the three, though will cost the greatest sum too.

Gvardiol signed a new deal in Leipzig last September that contains a release clause worth €110m (approx. £98m) that activates in the summer of 2024. The dominant Croatian is also wanted by Man City and Chelsea.

Regarding who could make way, both Goal and Football Insider previously reported Joel Matip could be sold.

The other five stars on the list other than Bellingham are all central midfielders.

Sky Germany list Youri Tielemans (Leicester), Ruben Neves (Wolves), Ismael Bennacer (AC Milan), Edson Alvarez (Ajax) and Nicolo Barella (Inter Milan).

Tielemans will be available as a free agent this summer with his contract at Leicester expiring in June. The other four will all cost sizeable fees.
