‘Brilliant’ star catches the eye of Jurgen Klopp, as Liverpool transfer links could become reality

Jurgen Klopp praised ‘brilliant’ Lautaro Martinez following his strike against Liverpool in the week, adding fuel to the fire regarding a potential deal.
Martinez has been one of the most coveted assets in Europe of late. Indeed, the striker was directly involved in 27 Serie A goals last season and has continued the trend this season, scoring 14 league goals so far.
What’s more, he has shown his class on the international stage, scoring 19 times in 37 games for Argentina.
As such, Martinez has been the subject of interest from a number of clubs. Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all established themselves as potential suitors.
Liverpool boss Klopp added to the speculation that his side would make an attempt to sign the forward. Martinez scored the only goal in the Champions League round of 16 second-leg tie between Inter Milan and Liverpool.
“The goal we conceded, we shouldn’t have conceded, even when the finish was really brilliant,” Klopp said, as quoted by The Mirror.
Labelling Martinez’s strike as brilliant following transfer links is sure to whip up speculation.
Furthermore, Klopp has previous of signing top players his side has encountered.

Liverpool encountered Luis Diaz in the Champions League group stages. While the Colombian did not score against Liverpool, he posed the Reds’ backline problems on each occasion and was duly snapped up in January.
The same may become true of Martinez who has clearly made an impression of his own.

Another player who has been subject to speculation over a move to Liverpool is Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham.
Klopp is reportedly ‘desperate’ to secure a deal for the youngster.
Indeed, the Liverpool manager apparently believes Bellingham will be the ‘world’s best midfielder’ in years to come.
